Hello I like guitars.

Been playing guitar for 6-7 years now

  • My Gear:
  • Jackson KE3 Pro: Made in Japan around 2003-ish.

Not my image, this was the sellers picture from when I bought it from reverb.com in late 2016. Has seymour duncan JB and Jazz pickup combo, 24 jumbo Frets, and a Jackson Double locking tremolo.

Jackson DK2 Pro: Made in Japan in the late 90s-Early 2000's

Had to replace this image as my old facebook account holding the photo was deactivated, this photo isn't mine but I have this model in this colour made the same year this was. This guitar is probably my main and favourite guitar. It's been used for the majority of every performance I've done since obtaining this guitar. Another plus side is its Duncan Designed pickups in a HSS Configuration, meaning this guitar is an all rounder and can play any genre of music you want with it.

Charvel DST-1ST: Made in China in 2013

Currently the guitar I've owned for the longest, I got this as a 16th birthday gift. Its an amazing guitar for rock and metal with its EMG 81 and 85 Pickup configuration. It has a heavy tone and doesn't weigh as much as most other "Extreme" Shaped guitars. It unfortunately has a MAJOR issue with Strap balance and the neck dives, making it a pain to perform with.

Dean C350F: Made in china, unknown year

Got mine secondhand, it was modded with a seymour duncan distortion in the bridge and I got it for trading in my old BC Rich at a guitar shop. The biggest pain in the arse I've experienced in Maintaining this guitar, But it sounds, Looks, and feels great. The tremolo is a Floyd Rose Special, which is more or less the same as an Original floyd rose, but made from cheaper materials, and due to that, Heavy use of the tremolo often breaks or slips strings. I might stick a fat set of strings on it and tune it to B Standard.

Jackson RRXT Snow white: Made in indonesia in 2015:
jackson-rrxt-sw-snow-white_1_GIT0033937-000.jpg

One of the only guitars I've ever bought that was truly brand new and not Pre Owned, Shop soiled or Ex Demonstration, This guitar absolutely blew me away when I received it as an 18th birthday gift from my Parents and Grandparents. I knew it was good, But I wasn't expecting it to play as greatly as it does. Slight tuning issues due to the angled headstock and the pickups aren't the heaviest sounding, but other than that, This guitar is Flawless. Easy to restring and set up, INCREDIBLY Lightweight, yet solid, and Balances PERFECTLY On a strap with no Neck dive or Neck Rise! Oh, and the neck (Which is attached to the body and not bolted or glued on) is Graphite reinforced, Meaning the neck will not warp over time.
Edit: Since around November 2018 this guitar is now my new main and gets played a bit more than my older DK2
Jackson JS22-7 DKA:

Recently acquired entry level 7 string guitar, I bought this so I could see if 7 string guitars were my thing. I enjoy playing it but I don't play it as much as my other jacksons.
AMP:
Fender Mustang V2 20w Digital amp interface
Blackstar HT metal 1 with a 1x12 speaker cab

Pedals:
Dunlop Crybaby USA Wah
Blackstar LT Metal
TC Electronics Dark Matter Tube Distortion

Other gear:
Dava Grip Jazz Picks
Dunlop Jazz 2 picks
Dunlop Jazz 3 Picks
Dunlop JP Picks
Ready Ace Classic picks
Dunlop Super brite strings
Guitars I Used to own:

BC Rich KK (Kerry King of Slayer fame) Beast V NT Model. Made In china with BC Rich Active pickups and a Kahler "Hybrid" tremolo system. I miss it a bit but I hardly played it and at the time didn't think it was worth paying between £50-£80 to get the frets redressed. Also intonated pretty fucking badly.
Dimavery kids guitar with built in amp. Was my first guitar when I was 8. It was terrible, built in amp was naff and the pickup is in the neck position only so it sounded all bassy and bluesy and thats not what I wanted to sound like when I was 8. Also, restringing was physically impossible without physically removing the bridge with a screwdriver and honestly when you're 8 years old who has the time to do that?
Jaxville "Demon" strat. My first "proper" guitar. Was actually really nice for a cheap instrument (£120 with an amp and accessories). I even played a practice gig with it during my first year of college. Traded this and my old BC rich for a dean that I regret doing a bit but overall the Dean sounds and plays a lot better than the two I traded it for. Literally the heaviest guitar I've owned weight wise, it was so fucking heavy. Literally heavier than any other guitar in this thread. Heavier than an actual Gibson Les Paul and those things have a fair bit of weight.

UPDATE:

Since posting this thread I have acquired the following instruments:

Encore Blaster Stratocaster clone:
YOTHER10173701.jpg

Got it for £40 secondhand. No complaints at this price point!

FEATURES:
Rosewood fretboard with 22 nickel silver medium frets
Guitartech single coil pickups
Vintage style tremolo.
Body wood is just described as "Tonewood"...

Pro's:
Even brand new is absolutely affordable.
10x better than my starter guitar I got like 8 years ago
Amazing feeling neck
Tuning stability is decent
Intonates well for a cheapo guitar
Cons:
Body is routed for single coil pickups only, I got this to put a humbucker in but cannot do so without woodworking.
Excessive pickup noise when using distortion.

Gear4music double neck "Harlem" Flying V:
preview.jpg

I'm going to sell this eventually as it is not very good.
Features:
2 fucking necks
18 fucking strings
Shitloads of tone controls

PRO's:
Literally a fucking double neck for under £300
Pickups are decent on bridge position.
Niche and guaranteed to turn heads!
Came with a gig bag which is good since getting a bag or case for this guitar would be impossible without it.
Pickups sound decent for metal on the 6 string neck.
CONS:
Not as described on website: The picture showed chrome hardware, mine arrived with all black hardware.
Weighs shitloads
Worst neck dive and balance I've ever experienced in a guitar.
Horrendous tuning stability on the 12 string neck, the 6 string side is only a bit better.
12 string neck intonates poorly.
Would cost about £15-£20 to fully restring.
Same pickups on both necks, doesn't sound very good on the 12 string neck.
The middle position on the neck selector switch horrifically reduces output and volume.

Jackson JS3 concert bass in metallic blue:
jak-29190155-54_1.jpg

Features:
Indian laurel fretboard (Looks like ebony!)
2 Jackson Bass pickups!
5 Tone shaping knobs
Active circuitry.

Pros:
Nice balance
Nice feeling neck
Decent action
Does the job perfectly
Classic 80s style heavy metal simple design
Came with lifetime warranty!
Cons:
Faulty wiring, The output jack came loose and cuts out whilst playing sometimes.
