Essay about patriotism in the US

So, my english teacher was like "Yo, write a 10-12 page analysis about patriotism in the US and compare it to American Sniper" but I can't find a proper book about patriotism in the US. So I hope some of you guys know of any books or credible sources I can use, otherwise I'm kinda fucked right now.

I'd first of make a comparison to the film Inglorious Bastards, and compare the 'Hero' German sniper with that of the American sniper. I'd also recommenced watching Michael Mores Fahrenheit 9/11, it does a lot of coverage on patriotism and can be found on Netflix. Read up on a lot of the Inaugural addresses by US presidents from the 60's on wards, they always cover patriotism, and how it has changed. Lastly, compare a lot of pre and post 9/11 political speeches and analyses. Bush announcing the war on terror or invasion of Iraq are useful too.

The idea with the inaugural addresses is pretty damn good, thanks a lot!

If it was British Politics then I'd be able to help more. Also look at some American patriotic music, as well as anti patriotic music, comparing and contrasting them is a good idea too.
