Well yeah, I didn't know that Besides, I'm used to dying within the first 3 seconds in firefights, so I was actually surprised to make it out alive.

Surprised you did not get shot from 5 different angles within the Business area tbh. As I recall, last time I was there I got 1 tapped for talking to someone about their pistol ammo.
