I'm editing a video (not yours Dom) and when I add music every so often there is a really loud static noise but it's fine when I undo and remove music.

I have tried converting to WAV with Audacity and it still happens. I also have tried different songs. Any idea on how to fix would be appreciated.

Have you tried looking through the different audio addons? Make reset them?

And the mp3 file or what ever kind of file does not have the static noise? Only as soon as you dragged it into vegas?
Ifso, try to render like a 10 second black screen with that music and see if has the loud static noise.
