Hi everyone,

After some confusion, the Senior Administration team has decided to pick up the topic of the Helper rank again and agreed to some changes which we have chosen to elaborate in this post.

Helpers as Staff/Players
  • Helpers are staff members who are subject to staff complaints for misusing the powers they are given as staff members (e.g misuse of their physgun or forum/chat administration powers)
  • Reports can be made on Helpers for breaking the rules which can be dealt with by Moderators and above
  • Being Helper is no longer a requirement for applying for Enforcer

Powers on the Forums
  • Helpers can moderate the shoutbox
  • Helpers can delete posts on the Forums
  • Helpers should not moderate Applications, Action Requests or Appeals/Disputes
  • Helpers should moderate spam posts & posts that violate basic forum rules
  • Helpers cannot issue punishments

Server Rule Enforcement
  • Helpers may verbally warn or physgun players for minor rule infringements such as running on the highway, prop trolling and driving/vehicle rules
  • Helpers have basic chat administration powers and can delete messages for violating conduct rules
  • Helpers should not deal with major rule breaks and make reports instead

Rule Changes

Additionally, we have made changes to some of the rules as well. Rule amendments have been made to the following rules:

  • 2.5 Excessive Negativity
Players may not excessively impact the experience of others in a negative manner, unless the actions are a proportionate escalation of negative actions that have been performed against the original player.

When participating in raids, players carrying visible weaponry are considered to be significant enough threats to be killed justifiably without prior verbal commands or interaction.

  • 3.9 Placing Props
Props may only be placed within properties that you own, or if you have permission to do so from the respective owner; this excludes the use of Police Barricades and Cones. Props may also be placed in public areas as long as they are benefiting roleplay and are not obstructing anything. Under no circumstances should public structures be used for combat

Props must be placed realistically; for the placement of a prop to be deemed realistic, it must demonstrate that it can remain in its position without being frozen through the use of a Physics Gun. A maximum of three spotlights may be concentrated on a particular area.

Additionally, construction props may not be placed to erect defences during ongoing shootouts or raids.

  • 3.12 Mayoral Assassination
The mayor may only be assassinated if it sufficiently benefits the players involved or if the mayor has negatively affected the players in a severe personal way. Where possible, players should attempt to directly convince the Mayor to improve city management or change their tax policies before attempting an assassination.

Please note that any assassination of the mayor is very likely to be looked-into in depth and treated more strictly, meaning that players must have good reason for such actions.

Examples of reasons to justifiably assassinate the mayor include, but are not limited to:
  • Failing to adhere to promises regarding city management & tax policy
  • Discriminatory conduct towards diverse groups of people
  • Any instance in which it would be justifiable to kill another player according to rule 2.5
  • General mismanagement of city affairs such as draining city funds or failing to fund emergency vehicles

Staff Complaints

As well as these rule changes, changes to the Staff Complaints section of the Forums have been made as well. Administrators will now be able to handle Staff Complaints on members of Staff ranked Moderator or below.

no, that's disallowed under use of force policy anyway & would not be following the law, therefore still breaching rule 4.1 assuming it's on someone's back

Amended the original post, I forgot to mention that being Helper is no longer a requirement to apply for Enforcer.
