Computer upgrade suggestions.

So below is my current hardware specs and I am wondering what I should upgrade. Everything has been upgraded since I initially bought it back in 2014/5 but the CPU so that is the main thing I wish to upgrade. Don't worry about the budget as I will not buy all of it just select things/thing I can afford.

Latest ones. GTA V (Know it ain't new but can still be hungry for power with mods etc) Just Cause 4 etc. Also VR too.

Could I suggest that you upgrade your BIOS to Ugandan Megatrends Inc instead. America is so 1890's
Your Time Zone could also do with upgrading to GMT +8

If you look at a game's recommended specs you get a pretty accurate recommendation for the game's required hardware. Just Cause 3 runs fantastically (except for one massively unoptimized area where i get like 17 fps) on a 1060 6GB i7 8700 with 16GB ram.
All in all, the combination mentioned above can run even star citizen at well over 100 fps with hardly any stutters, aside from game assets being loaded in, and the occasional game breaking bug. I'm thinking that, that system would run JC4 just fine but I haven't actually tried yet.

So do I need to upgrade my graphics card to a 1080 or just leave it at a 970? Also the mentioned CPU is the one to go for yes?

I use a Geforce 1060 6GB and it is fine. Maybe get one of them since it can run everything perfectly.

I would have gone for a 8700k but the 8700 does the same thing, just less fancier. The 1060 is good for everything currently available, except for JC4 wich i don't know anything about.
