Is this a new law or a change to current law: New law

What law do you wish to change/add: Adding the law "5.7 Paying tickets in due time"

Why should this change/addition be made: Often people walk around with big tickets and just don't pay them. When giving them another ticket it just doesn't work unless you get put into jail. Minor tickets will not be stacked. Not paying tickets should get a jail sentence depending on how much money their current unpaid ticket is.

What is the aim of this change/addition: To stop players from not paying their tickets and to create more lifelike roleplay.

Additional Information: Thought Section 5 would be a good place to put it.

Having a citation doesn’t effect anyone but the owner of the ticket. If someone wants to circumvent receiving citations by keeping hold of an existing citation in exchange for jail time then that’s their own dumb choice imo.

Allowing officers to extend an existing citation is something that could be considered for a workaround!

Alternatively you can jail them for the crime (as long as it incurs a jail sentence) and ticket them for the crime they have commited.

Thing is though, currently, only supervisors can take back the tickets. Not officers. If they keep the ticket officers cant deal out another ticket for another law unless the current ticket is already paid for. Creating a law like this requires them to pay the ticket or they go for a jail sentence. Currently, we don't have that. People laugh in our face and go about their business.

they said that about every implementation to the PD but we get it anyway, like "can't taser be abused", well yes but that's what policies are for and people who break policies get kicked out!

So what you’re saying is the ability to add a citation atop another citation would be any more abusable than using having an existing citation to avoid a ticket?

I think making it a crime not to pay might be a bit harsh but allowing stacking of tickets could work, however you’d have the issue where someone is parked illegally, cop tickets them, another cop drives past and tickets them, and before you know it you have $6000 ticket for the same offence

For that to happen, they would require a CPL+ to remove the existing ticket if it isnt your own ticket.

Maybe there could be a way so that if an officer would ticket a person it would warn that officer that the person has been ticketed recently and it gives you the offence? This would be shown at the bottom of the ticket box.
