The members of this org share a character-first and realism-focused mindset which results in organic, properly paced development and in-depth, highly immersive role-play. If you are someone who prioritizes climbing the ranks over realistic role-play, this org is not for you.
Though our faction falls under the genre of street gang, it is not required to extensively research street gangs prior to joining this org; your time would be better spent planning your character and putting research into information directly related to your character's background. Instead of planning your character under the black gangsta archetype, create a multi-dimensional human being that contributes realism to the setting in one way or another. Characters of all backgrounds and ethnicities can become associated to the organization within bounds of reason, though it is recommended to role-play a native paralake.
Recruitment is done entirely In Character. It is suggested to establish a criminal MO for your character or make your character an asset and/or vulnerable to our characters in some way as a pathway into the org although joining is not black and white. Do not ask questions on our thread or to our members through private messages about where/what our fronts are; if you really want to join, the investigative work necessary to uncover this information will only serve to better your chances of progressing.
We are welcoming of anyone regardless of skill level, English ability, or role-play experience. The only requirement for joining this faction is that you must agree to our Code of Conduct below which has been put in place to help solidify our org's culture.
THE PARALAKE BALLAS CODE OF CONDUCT
1. Compliance and Respecting Others
All current and aspiring faction members must follow all perpheads and paralake ballas rules at all times. Always treat others with respect both in-game and on the forums. Never seek conflict with others OOC and handle any concerns with others professionally and respectfully.
2. Role-play Standards
All current and aspiring faction members must role-play to the best of their abilities at all times. It is extremely important to role-play and develop a realistic character with no OOC motives in mind. Be responsible in terms of carrying out a reasonable amount of research when necessary (i.e. starting a racket) to ensure you are providing realistic role-play. Keep in-game PMs and OOC chat to an absolute minimum while role-playing to maximize immersion and role-play quality for all parties. Any communication between players within the faction must not pertain to IC events or anything that may interfere with/taint role-play.
3. Recruitment
All current and aspiring org members must handle IC recruitment in a realistic manner. The process of building trust and integrating newcomers overall needs to reasonably mirror how this would realistically happen in the gang; it is each individual's responsibility to contribute to this within the confines of their character. Allowing players a headstart in the faction through predetermining character relationships needs to be limited to rare exceptions in which the player is very capable and the relationship serves a meaningful purpose in your role-play. If you decide you would like to give someone this type of opportunity it must first be approved by Parsuut_Savage.
4. Screenshot Etiquette
All current and aspiring org members must only post screenshots showing the faction in good light. How often anyone posts screenshots is up to their own discretion. Use good judgement when posting screenshots and avoid posting anything that may be metagamed intentionally or unintentionally. Keep a sense of mysteriousness around the role-play you document. Screenshots of scripted role-play or doctored role-play are forbidden; everything showcased must be true to role-play happening in-game.
