On 19 June 2026, 6 PM at Hungries, 19 fighters competed for $700,000 in prize money and the right to be called the first ever City Fighting Championship (CFC) Champion.

Dick Harris's Run For Gold

Dick Harris began his run for the CFC belt as the 3-seed in the tournament. Receiving a bye in round one enabled Harris to get warmed up and started his tournament with a quick win over 19-seed Jon Handcock in Round 2. In Round 3, Harris held on tight for a close knockout over 6-seed Abdully Jahime and moved onto the semifinals. In the semifinals, Dick Harris had his toughest match-up yet. Newcomer Marc Leclers was on a roll as the 2-seed and had a breeze to the semifinals bye defeating both 18-seed Adam Studley and 7-seed Tryone Costello. In a fight to be remembered as Dick Harris's statement fight, Harris knocked out Leclers, dismantling his shot at the belt, and moved onto the finals.

Dick knew the finals wouldn't be an easy task though. Throughout the entire fight, 1-seed CFC interim Champion Penelope Poisson had her eyes on Dick Harris the entire night playing mind games from the very beginning. The interim Champion Penelope swept her way through the tournament with extremely quick knockouts over 17-seed Johny Banks, 8-seed Oleg Costello, and 5-seed Jackson Berry. After every fight, the interim Champion only had one thing to say "I want Dick!" Penelope finally had her wishes come true in the finals where she would have her chance to take on Dick Harris with everything on the line.

During an interview in the warmups before the finals, Dick Harris admitted to the nerves by saying "Penelope has been the only person in Paralake to ever beat me..." Dick had a chip on his shoulder with Penelope being the clear favorite of the crowd as well and he knew he must take advantage of this moment. As soon as the bell rang, both fighters were throwing haymakers. Penelope landed the first strike, but Dick Harris swayed an incoming hook to land an uppercut on Penelope. Blood was spilled all over the cage, but both Penelope Poisson and Dick Harris stood strong. During the final seconds of the fight, you can tell both fighters were stunned. Penelope successfully scored a knockdown on Dick Harris and the crowd thought the fight was about to be over, but to the surprise of everyone, Penelope came in for a finishing overhand which Dick Harris ducked and landed the finishing blow on Penelope Poisson. Stunning the entire crowd, Paralake's favorite, Laquisha Johnson, handed the bottle of victory to Dick Harris to where he was named the first ever CFC Champion.

In the post-fight interview, Dick Harris said "I just want to thank the people who have supported me the entire way... I have nothing but respect for Penelope. I had a blast and its an honor to have my name down as the first champion." You may know him as a mayor, firefighter, criminal, or even just Dick Harris, but now, he is a champion.

Penelope Poisson's Comback?

The 1-seed Penelope Poisson came into this tournament as the clear favorite of everyone. Being apart of the CFC since its creation, she has numerious fights under her belt and is known for her devistating blows that can knock her oponnents out within seconds. Although Penelope wasn't able to clinch her first CFC belt, it would be foolish to look past the skills she posses as a fighter. After Penelope ultimately lost in the finals to the 3-seed Dick Harris, she gave Dick his flowers, but there was a sense of revenge that seemed to be coming. Do you think we will see Penelope claim her first CFC belt soon and maybe have us witness a Poisson vs Harris 2?

Marc Leclers's Resilience

After the 2-seed Marc Leclers was defeated in the semifinals by the evntual champion Dick Harris, he though his run was over. After a brief conversation with his coach and knowing all he had to do was go 2-0 to claim 3rd, that spark lit in his eyes and it was showtime. Marc Leclers paved his way to the 3rd place bout where he would be facing the newly feared 5-seed Jackson Berry. Berry was in a similar situation to Leclers as Berry also lost in the semifinals, but to the 1-seed Penelope Poisson. Berry was also on a role taking out quick striking 6-seed Abdully Jahime to get to the 3rd place bout. Both fighters were hungry knowing that one wrong move in this bout could be the difference from $100k and nothing! Leclers went in holding that chip on his shoulder and instantly came out firing, but was met with incredibly counter strikes from Berry. In the end, Leclers grappling, clinch striking, and resilience brought him to a knockout victory over Jackson Berry and cemented him as the 3rd place winner in CFC1.

Where is Rick Hummer?

To the surprise of many, the highly sought after 4-seed Rick Hummer did not appear at the CFC tournament. Hummer was thankfully replaced by a similar skilled fighter in the stands known as "Slim Shady", but still Rick Hummer was not seen on the day of the tournament. Many believe that Rick Hummer feared having to potentially face 1-seed Penelope Poisson in the semifinals and backed out. Others are saying Rick Hummer can be in danger and this is a calling for help. Insiders from the Hicktown forests are saying Rick Hummer was seen in the sewers underneeth Bunker laughing at the walls. Whatever the case may be, we hope Rick Hummer is not in distress and we will be in touch with PLN for any updates.
