Suggestion Title: RTU camera flash
Suggestion Description: Change the RTU camera flash to be toggleable, I don't wanna be flash banged everytime I drive past it or tune it down a little. The flash hurts a lot people's eyes and it scares the crap out of people most the time. Also epilepsy seizure exist

Why should this be added?:
- Less flash

What negatives could this have?:
- No idea

What problem would this suggestion solve?: Don't want the flash to hurt your eyes everytime

The camera is the hl2 scanner camera type flash, way worse than the flashbang lol.

A speed camera imo shouldn't flash bang you and cause disorientation that can lead to more crashes on the road.

It Is a big deal. Shit hurts my eyes and scares the piss out of me, Plus some people have a thing called epilepsy where they can get seizures from flash

The speed camera flash causes significant eye discomfort for me, i spent like a solid minute the first time just getting my eyes to normalize which was time spent just sitting in the road clearing my vision because i was not expecting it.

@Apex when you get flashbanged you hear the flash hit the ground and you're expecting a visual change if you're in range, which is a significant difference between the expected and unexpected. unexpected visual changes, especially when bright can cause eye strain and pain as is the case for the speed camera here.

I think a good alternative would just make the camera itself flash, as if a flashlight were being turned on or something. So it doesn't impair your whole screen but you can still see it.

A flashbang can absolutely catch you off guard and be unexpected. The epilepsy point can be used in the same way against regular flash grenades.

If y'all are struggling this much with the camera flash, why aren't y'all struggling the same with the flashbang? Its just a bit inconsistent lol

In any case, the screen flash is annoying, I'll agree, but its not that extreme imo

You're being passive aggressive for no reason. And no one is being a cry baby, people are bringing up quite logical points.

The flashbang effect is uneccessary and should either be removed or toggelable.

Camera it self should either;

A) flash like a camera as it does now without the extra flashbang effecr

Or B) Have a red blink

Both of these options are used by IRL speed cameras.

You didn't debunk a thing, all you did was refuse to acknowledge the fact that flashbangs have very clear signs of usage. I.E, you hear a pin or the flashbang itself hitting the ground. It is rare to ever be caught completely off-guard by a flashbang and should generally not be taken into account for this argument as it's an edge case. The speed camera flash is not one, and it's something that happens constantly anytime you pass one. They can be in many locations, and many of them unexpected.

Would it be stupid to suggest that there could be a global toggle to make all flash effects have a dark mode?

Its easier on the eyes, to my understanding people with epilepsy wont be effected and its just more pleasant but isn't a nerf
