Player's Roleplay Name: Ikeda Sapphire, Que Feldspar
Player's SteamID: STEAM_0:0:61640221, STEAM_0:1:774454727

Why should these players be punished?:

Whilst turning into main street an unrelated player collided into my car causing it to stop in the road. Que Feldspar (Nyuro) proceeded to stop his gwagon and reverse it back up the road into my lane - in front of my car - whilst stating that he could crash his car into mine if he wanted to because he's in a gwagon - all of which was unnecessary.
When I exclaimed "oh shit, what the fuck" in response to the previous crash, Ikeda Sapphire (Rich Off Morphine) responded with "shut up karen" and proceeded to start repeating this throughout the entire encounter.
I catch my car on Que's car attempting to pass, and I end up having to reverse onto his side of the road in order to free our cars whilst telling him to drive better - Que then proceeds to ram his gwagon into the front of my car and hold it in place against a tree telling me that he can 'do what the fuck he wants'.

It is my belief that during this encounter Que violated 3.15 and that the two of them potentially violated 2.5 (though I'm unsure if it was excessive negativity, but it definitely soured my mood) - I was moreso annoyed with Ikeda Sapphire for his constant repetition of telling me to 'shut up, karen' as it felt like both an unnecessarily gendered insult and escalated how I responded to the encounter.

it was me joking around and you are literally laughing during the clip? and then you crashed back into me. this seems like a frivolous report and has no basis. You and me know each other and I was obviously joking as you can hear yourself laugh in the clip

I don't really see how this falls under 2.5, and I'd like to give some context to the interaction.

Throughout the entire situation I remained in character. The comments were made IC and were part of the interaction between our characters. There was no OOC hostility or any intention to personally target the player behind the character.

The use of "Karen" was simply meant as a joke. It wasn't intended to be a gendered insult, nor was it used in reference to the player's gender. It's an expression that can be used towards anyone, and in this situation, it was simply part of the back and forth between our characters. The player never expressed any discomfort in LOOC or asked me to refrain from saying it, so I continued with the roleplay as normal. If the player would've spoke out to inform me that it made them feel some type of way, I wouldn't have kept calling them it.

I understand that the reporter has since taken the comments personally, but I don't believe that alone makes it a rule break. Rule 2.5 is about seriously impacting another player's experience in a negative way, and I don't believe a bit of IC banter, especially in the context of this interaction, falls under that.

I'd also like to point out the wording of rule 1.2. It prohibits discrimination and hateful comments based on things such as gender, but calling someone a Karen isn't inherently a gender-based insult. There was no reference to the player's gender, identity or personal life.

I'm not dismissing how the reporter felt about the interaction, but I think there's a difference between someone taking an IC joke personally and someone actually being targeted or harassed.

I don't believe I've breached 2.5.

@nyuro do you have anything to add for the accused breakage of rule 3.15?

I'd also like to clarify and already say that I do not see the comments being made as excessive negativity or similar. If this group of people returned, targeted or repeated their negative actions such as harassing you after the situation I would see this as problematic. This only seems to be a one off thing, I understand that you are a bit sour from this altercation but it would not make much sense to punish people for this unless they are negatively impacting your experience after the incident.

You have 48 hours for a response.

I would say that following the wording of 3.15 I did break it. This was not meant to be an intentionally mean thing. I honestly knew who it was in the car and assumed they were playing along. You can hear in the clip of Ms. Pond laughing. I was just messing around with someone I thought also understood that. If the car was damaged I don't mind paying for the damages :)

I appreciate the responses from both involved. Que's driving struck me as unrealistic and so in the moment it was my interpretation that they were both addressing me OOC but I think it's a case of us being used to two different sorts of IC interactions and so I was caught off guard by the hostility. I'm alright with the AR being closed.
