stop reading newspapers Proposal by College of Policing is that Police Officers require a degree level qualification in 2020. The degree can be self funded at university by doing a Policing course, or you can do an apprenticeships directly through the Police as a student officer and gain the qualification that way,

Highly doubt the proposal will go through however, the Police really don't have the money to do something like this, although it would be lovely. Also, the Police Federation won't let it pass.
