pretty well said, and i agree for the most part. But people are forgetting that its not ONLY crims that just shoot, ive seen numerous times when cops will just become impatient mid-roleplay and just shoot the hostage takers because "they had a good shot".

and lose alot of the playerbase, great idea imo.

because free passage isnt exactly honoured, you let them walk out of the apartment complex or pd, just for them to get spiked or shot down immediately.

and whos saying that these players dont do bank robberies, raids etc. While hostage situations are the peak of roleplay situations, they are also the peak of org XP if pulled off successfully due to the number of cops they are able to kill at once. if you add a rule that forces them to...

there isnt really a win-win situation, its just down to whos on each side of the hostage situation, just the same as any other rp situation. if one side doesnt want to roleplay then you cant really force them to.

tell me any single realistic situation where a hostage taker would pre-warn the police. as soon as police hear anything related to negotiations are off they are just going to open fire on the hostage takers, basically flipping what ur complaining about to the other POV.

whys it actually kinda fire though.
