Detained vs Arrest are different though
If it’s just a temporary detainment for an investigation I agree with the post. However if someone has drugs or guns on them it would be silly to not search them if they’re being booked into jail.
Everyone’s blaming the cop for doing an arrest in accordance with the criminal code but not annoyed at the people who made it an arrestable offense to begin with? I agree it should be a ticket-able offense only but the arresting officer didn’t make the law.

I’m not disputing whether they broke rule 3.4 or not. I’m just stating additional factors I remembered after that reply to possibly be brought into consideration if punishment is being issued regarding this action request.
They did have a firearm in their inventory which would potentially add additional years for offensive weapon along with failing to stop for an officer, haven’t double checked but I believe that could potentially cause a 7+ year sentence.
Not sure when they’re going to be on but the answers 99% likely going to be ignorance of the rules regarding when you can use deadly force to prevent high sentence arrests.
