Allow dispatch to view properties/phone number/owned vehicles
Brief description of idea: Allow active Dispatchers to view a subject's properties, vehicles, and phone number similar to those at the Sergeant rank. What benefits would this idea have for the department:
- Dispatch should have access to all information so they can relay to units efficiently and ease the load on supervisors.
- Makes Dispatch more useful for this info.
What potential negatives could this have for the department:
- Potential for abuse, but the information isn't hard to get in the first place and the benefit of being a proactive, capable dispatch, I feel outweighs the 'disadvantage'. This could also be easily moderated through dismissal/reprimands.
Have Secret Service agents visible on 'units' tab
Brief description of idea: Make any active Secret Service agents visible on the Dispatch 'units' HUD.What benefits would this idea have for the department:
- Better communication due to Dispatch being able to see if SS are active and their names, so they can relay messages to them and easily know if a panic is from Secret Service and assign units to them.
- Allows Dispatch to monitor the location of SS units via the Dispatch map for easy response and location of the Mayor.
What potential negatives could this have for the department:
- None, apart from conflict between SS (still accountable to PLPD) and the PD.
Other additions: Perhaps have a direct line of communications between the Dispatch and SS radio? Maybe the 'N' key for SS communicates with Dispatch?
Integrate Police Computer with Dispatch Map
Brief description of idea: As of current, the Police Computer cannot be minimised in the Dispatcher's HUD as is usually done, because this prevents Dispatch from speaking in radio. Either fixing this issue or integrating the computer with the map (perhaps via a tab at the top of the window) would suffice. What benefits would this idea have for the department:
- Allows Dispatchers to use Police Computer and the Dispatch Map simultaneously, making them more efficient.
What potential negatives could this have for the department:
- None.
Allow Dispatchers to view and respond to roadcrew messages
Brief description of idea: Allow dispatchers to view the RC chat, either by integrating messages from roadcrew workers only in the same text box as messages from government, or by having messages from roadcrew workers make a blip on the map. Dispatch can then register and respond to the message. What benefits would this idea have for the department:
- Allows an actual dedicated response and confirmation from law enforcement for every illegally parked car that roadcrew are forced to report in.
- Allows Dispatch to monitor the roadcrew chat for possible calls for assistance (e.g. vehicle not complying with tow, etc.)
What potential negatives could this have for the department:
- None that I can think of.
Allow Dispatchers to use /pbc and send Police Broadcast messages.
Brief description of idea: Allow dispatchers to, via a button and a popup text box on their Dispatch HUD, send police broadcast messages to the public similar to RTU and Sergeants. What benefits would this idea have for the department:
- Dispatchers can help officers on-scene by sending out broadcasts relevant to the scene when no officers are able to do so or officers able are occupied.
- Dispatchers can send out messages, with their knowledge of the number of emergency services, calling people to join the PD/EMS/FD.
What potential negatives could this have for the department:
- None that I can think of. It would be too much effort to be abused constantly.
