Why were you punished?: 3.4- User raiding an apartment with a baseball bat using a bomb to gain entry. Didn't have any proper way to defend themselves from any resistance inside
Why should this appeal be considered?: I recently just got banned for 3.4, raiding with a baseball bat. I do not feel like this ban was fair, because I was RDMed mid way through the raid, but I am here to apologize.
Quick Explanation (so you can understand my point of view.)
I lived at slums 4, I was raiding slums 3. I have raided them previously by scouting when they left the apartment with a baseball bat and lockpick and I have successfully done it already once. So when I saw the blue Lexus and pink hatchback leave the parking lot, I got a bomb out and placed it in front of their door. As a solo player, raiding a 3+ man base is very risky, so my plan was to explode the bomb and wait until the coast was clear. I lived in slums 4 so it was just steps away to grab my SCAR after the PD cleared the complex. If I blew up the bomb and ran in, the PD would have instantly shot me if I was caught and I cannot deal with the whole PD as a solo. I went outside to scout after exploding the bomb and I was instantly shot and RDMed. It was RDM because they had no idea it was me that exploded the bomb, I could have been a random coming out from an apartment. I only had a baseball bat on my back standing at the door way and looking around.
I did not get to finish my raid, and eventually got reported because I "ran away" after I bombed them.
Wouldn't it have been 3.4 if I went in knowing that the entire PD would be at the door within seconds? I would have instantly gotten shot. If I went outside to scout with the rifle in my hands I would have been instantly shot too.
Even so, I'm here to issue an apology. It wasn't in my intention to bomb someone's base and just "leave." It wasn't also my intention to not have "fear of life" even so I was trying my best to avoid dying by rushing into the home. I cannot show you proof I was going to grab a gun, so I apologize that I did not know I could not raid with a melee weapon. I had a plan in mind that made sense, but was ruined by a RDM. In the end I was making a ban dispute, but honestly gave up because I can't be asked to look through 5 demos and have it crash every time I skip it. I feel like a week ban is a little harsh for this as I haven't had a serious ban within years. And this was just honestly a big misunderstanding.
I hope you can see my point of view. I will not raid with a melee or at least keep my firearm close next time.
Other remarks: The ban also states I didn't have a proper way of defending myself, but if I had no intention of grabbing my gun, considering I scouted the apartment for minutes and had the assumption it was empty, wouldn't a bat have been sufficient? If someone was raiding an empty home with a bat, would he still get warned for 3.4? (Just a question for future RP situations)
