Why were you punished?: Metagaming
Why should this appeal be considered?: I’m writing this as my final appeal regarding my ban for metagaming. I want to start by saying that I take full responsibility for my actions, and I now clearly understand that what I did falls under the definition of metagaming on the server.
At the time, I didn’t realise that what I was doing was against the rules. I wasn’t intentionally trying to metagame or gain an advantage — to me, it felt like casual conversation between friends, or harmless follow-up after events had already happened. But I now fully understand that discussing any in-character information outside of the game, regardless of intent or result, is still considered metagaming and breaks the server’s rules.
What I was accused of, I did — but it came from a lack of understanding, not from trying to bend or exploit the rules. That doesn’t excuse it, of course, and I accept that it's my responsibility to know and follow the rules properly.
Since the ban, I’ve taken the time to go over the rules again, especially around IC and OOC boundaries, and I now have a much clearer understanding of how seriously they’re taken and why they matter. I’m committed to respecting those rules fully moving forward.
This appeal isn’t to argue or deny anything - I know I messed up. I just want to show that I’ve learned from it, I genuinely didn't think what I was doing was metagame, I wasn't trying to actively gain the upper hand in any situation and I apologise.
As for the failure to report, it just completely slipped my mind at the time and I can't excuse that. I did inform the users to keep it in game as I saw that was clear metagame, but my actions were not enough.
I do not intend to break any rule, I enjoy this server as much as the next person and want to do that going forward, following the rules.
