Punishment Type: Ban
Punishment Subtype: Server Ban
Appeal Type: Dispute[Evidence]
Which staff member issued the punishment?: @3izu
How long were you banned/blacklisted for?: Permanent

Your Steam Name: cohensmith
Your Roleplay Name: Cohen Smith
Your SteamID: STEAM_0:1:926454620

Why were you punished?: Cheating

Why should this appeal be considered?: I just attempted to sign into the server after work like you do but found myself banned, unfortunately.

This was very surprising to me, and I suspected that I might have accidentally broken a rule or accidentally run over someone with my car or something similar. To my surprise, however, the reason was cheating (and the ban was permanent).

A couple statements:

(i) I'm terrible at this game. I don't think I've managed to actually successfully kill, raid, or mug anyone in this server. I've tried but horribly failed each time.

(ii) Since I was once unfairly robbed of my stuff one time, and my report couldn't be handled because I didn't have a recording, I have since then invested in recording software, which I am always running. This software is called OBS and records my entire screen. Whenever I feel like 'something' is coming up, I start recording. Attached to this post is a playlist with unlisted videos, all recorded on Perpheads since I first joined the server, like, 1-2 weeks ago. I realize no one will be combing through this footage, but feel free to do so & acknowledge my transparency. There's also video's in there of the day of the ban, the video titles show dates and times.

(iii) Initially when joining Perpheads, I had a lot of trouble with accessing content on this server. It started with errors everywhere, which I fixed by installing your content. This introduced several other 'issues,' such as me disconnecting after talking to NPCs or accessing storage. I asked questions about this on the shoutbox on this forum and asked frequently in OOC. This should be accessible in the logs. I looked further and further and came to a possible solution that I had to run it at x86. I'm no computer guy, but this did fix it to some degree, but not completely. Later, I added a line of code to the launcher as well as some other things, like removing certain folders & then restarting Garry's Mod and whatnot to force it to update. Possibly, this caused your systems to detect 'unusual activities'. Also, going back to the video playlist, I also tried solving my problems by switching to windowed mode, for example.

(iv) I'm not good with computers at all. My computer is also very old (secondhand computer last used in 2017 or so), so it's also quite slow. I'm not the guy to go around hacking

The core of my message is, however you push, pull or turn it, I didn't actually cheat. I don't know what you guys have seen and what not, but I actually 100% have not cheated on your server. No players were harmed by wrongdoing. I'm 100% down for hopping on a call, sharing more information, whatever you'd like me to do. This doesn't mean I blame anyone, as I'm sure there was a good reason for suspecting me to do so.
