Punishment Type: Ban
Appeal Type: Dispute[Evidence]
Which staff member issued the punishment?: @Erwin
How long were you banned/blacklisted for?: 6 Months

Your Steam Name: YoungHablo
Your Roleplay Name: Pablo Bands
Your SteamID: STEAM_0:1:122905120

Why were you banned/blacklisted?: Was being mugged infront of a npc and admin witness's this and doesnt stop it but decides too take me too a roof and issue me a 6 month man when i loaded into the server for 5 minutes.

Why should this appeal be considered?: I also didnt know its against the rules too refuse too put my hands up even if im in the wrong. He also said there was a shootout did not hear any shootout on my way there as i loaded in 5 minutes before. I went too just see if i had a gun in my storage before needing too buy one and was just targeted by not reason. I wouldnt be surprised if the admin is friends with the guy and is just trying too get easy admin ban points or whatever you guys feed your admins so hard they have too player target too get any enjoyment out of their pitiful life.

Additional Information: Everytime i join the server too have fun the admins will follow me around and just try too get me for anything hes saying 3 months initially for breaking a rule but the other guy gets too mug me infront of a npc and gets away without any punishment seems like favourtism and just blatant targeting. i double anything will happen as its always corruption on these cringe gmod servers.

After taking a look at the evidence provided we deem the ban to be valid.

As written in Rule 2.6, if you suspect a rule violation, you should report it and proceed with the roleplay situation unless an administrator intervenes.

2.6 Reporting a Rule-Breaker

If it is believed that another player has broken a rule, the report function (F6 key on your keyboard) is expected to be used to inform an Administrator. If a player(s) is in a role-play situation with another player(s) who has broken a rule, after the report function (F6 key) has been used, the former player(s) should continue the role-play situation as best as to their ability, and within the confines of the rules, until either it has ended and/or an Administrator intervenes.

Players may also use the report function if they require administrative assistance in general, for example being stuck somewhere.

Additionally, the F6/Report function should be used to report individuals who are conspiring to break rules i.e, Mass RDM.

When reporting another player, please make sure you include:

  • The names of anyone involved, and which rules they broke.
  • Exactly what happened.
  • When the events took place.

In the clip you provided it's clear that you weren't being mugged, as nothing was taken from you. Instead, you were at gunpoint and given commands, which you chose not to follow, resulting in you breaking the rules yourself. You should have complied with the given commands and then reported the incident, rather than breaking character and refusing to comply. This would have easily prevented the situation from escalating into getting yourself banned.

3.4 Putting your Life at Risk

Any actions taken by a player that may put their In-Character life, freedom from imprisonment or general well being at risk must be done so in a realistic fashion and for beneficial reasons.

This rule is specifically relevant to the violation of any In-Character law, meaning that murders, thefts, etc, are all expected to be conducted realistically;

A few common examples of unreasonable risks includes, but is not limited to:

  • Running on the highway without a justifiable reason
  • Loitering around the vicinity of a shootout you are not a part of or being within the line of fire from both intentional and accidental fire. Users must flee the scene of a shootout and wait for police to clear the scene and reopen the area to the public. This applies regardless of you being restrained or not.
  • Murdering a police officer(s) to avoid yourself or others receiving a minor punishment, such as a small ticket or a minor jail sentence
  • Loitering around the scene of a crime you committed with the intention of engaging in more combat
  • To not comply with reasonable orders given under the direct threat of a lethal weapon pointed at you, such as a mugging.
  • Committing a violent or serious crime, such as murder, theft, arson, etc. whilst knowing that police are in direct eyeshot of the scene you wish to commit the crime at.
  • After committing a crime, relevant precautions should be taken to avoid arrest or police attention, such as avoiding public places.

Some valid reasons to kill police officers include:

  • Risk of a long prison sentence, typically 7 years or more
  • Preventing the imminent detection of drug production.
  • Committing a violent crime police would reasonably use lethal force to apprehend you for.
If you believe the staff member handling the situation was targeting you or being biased or harsh on you with the ban length you can make a staff complaint on them and it will be looked into thoroughly.
