Punishment Type: Ban
Punishment Subtype: Server Ban
Appeal Type: Dispute[Evidence]
Which staff member issued the punishment?: @Headline
How long were you banned/blacklisted for?: 3 Weeks

Your Steam Name: Hodogman
Your Roleplay Name: Teo Bunta
Your SteamID: STEAM_0:0:75415399

Why were you punished?: For leaving the game/ for scamming tea leaves?

Why should this appeal be considered?: I was banned when I left the game while in a sit. It took the admin 2-3 hours after the event to review the report from the player, which made it made it too late for me to wait for messages every 15 minutes. The admin said everything that needed to be said, and we cleared everything up. I asked for an apology because I had to leave, not to hide from the admin or anything, and he gave me a 2-week ban for it. Then, I saw in the forum that the day before you removed someone’s 7-day ban for what they called a 'Valentine’s Day' event. But now, I need to wait for an honest mistake to be recognized, which never happens or will happen. I came back today to see if the 1-week ban would be reduced so I could apologize again, only to find that you added 3 more weeks for a scam, which seems to be allowed on this server? Two admins cleared that up for me, and now you come back and add 3 more weeks without giving any explanation. Why is that?

Additional Information: This whole thing is not ok, and i would like the admin to geniunly answer does he have anything against me in game and thats why he is doing this.

only to find that you added 3 more weeks for a scam
That's not what the ban reason says, it expressly mentioned that you failed to return the money at gunpoint. As in, you failed to comply with an order at gunpoint. This is expressly prohibited by rule 3.4.

If that is not the case, please let us know

if that was correct then yes i did but that is not what happend, i took the money and got away and after 1-2 hours the person ran up to me infront of hospital with a gun and said go to the ATM and take out all the money and drop it

I was the one that extended your ban, you had scammed someone at the Suburbs Jennifer's parking lot for 300k & split it half with your friend. This happened at 1:55AM, you were killed by the player not even 30 minutes later at 2:24AM after failing to return the money you had scammed off the person.

I tried reaching out to you on steam however you declined my friend request so I had to proceed without your input, it was a clear violation of 3.4 at the bank where you were gun-pointed.

When you are finally unbanned, you will need to make a report so staff can delete the money as the person who had it originally (the one you scammed) has already been refunded. This also goes for your friend who you transferred half the money to

(For clarifications sake, I will not be involved in the decision making process of the staff who review this dispute as you seem to only be disputing the part which I added to your ban)

3.5 New Life Rule

Players must wait out their NLR timer before returning to their death location or interacting with the situation and must forget details of their past life, excluding properties, cars, government positions, et cetera. Players must also stay a reasonable distance away from their NLR zone. Respawning and joining/leaving government jobs must be treated as a new life.

Players must not act on any information relating to their death that is gained while their NLR timer is active.

5.1 Mugging

Players may mug no more than 3 players in a 60-minute period and cannot mug the same player twice within that time. Muggings must not occur in public view nor after dragging someone out of it, or when the loss of profit is imminent. Additionally, City Employees must not be mugged for money or personal items.

AND you have a gap of 2 hours to fight back

5.2 Forced Withdrawals

Players must not force others to withdraw funds or items from ATMs, mobile banking, or storages, unless they are performing a legal search as Police. Items or money may only be forced out of storages when stolen; taken via scamming; or paying for damages due to another player’s negligence.

and he only found me from my name even tho i changed clothes how does he know my name if i never gave it to him

He never died, no NLR was broken. Returning stolen property is not a mugging, as he isn't actually taking any of your own items, he is only taking what belonged to him. This means 5.1 does not apply.

Only 29 minutes passed between you taking his money and him killing you.

The rules allow you to recognise a player if you have seen their face, regardless of if you have changed clothes (Rule 3.14). That being said, you did not even change clothes at all, that is just a complete lie

3.20 Disconnecting from the Server

Players must not be unconscious or in active roleplay/administrative situations when disconnecting and must wait until 10 minutes have passed since committing crimes, unless the crime has been resolved (e.g, arrested or absolved).

Disconnecting to save possessions is also not allowed. If a player must disconnect during roleplay, they must inform staff via a report (F6) and provide a valid reason.

I can absolutely appreciate that taking half an hour to determine wrongdoing is frustrating, but please understand that if you really needed to go, you could easily have just told Headline that you need to leave

and the molly was 2 hours or so before the admin even contacted us and i dont really think a 2 week ban is ok after all that

i think a threat with a gun is a valid reason and i could burn the house down i dont know the rule about that tho

I am going to break this down so that you understand it.

add 3 more weeks
The ban was extended from 2 weeks to 3 weeks. That is an addition of 1 week, not 3.

3.5 New Life Rule
Neither you or the player you scammed died, NLR does not apply.

5.1 Mugging
This was not your money, nothing was being stolen from you. It was not a mugging.

even tho i changed clothes
You never changed clothes. Nor would that matter, as they have seen your face, meaning they can use your IC name to identify you, as per rule 3.14

after 1-2 hours the person ran up to me infront of hospital
It was just under 30 minutes, nowhere near 1-2 hours.

Beyond that, here is an excerpt from rule 3.4.
Examples of unreasonable risks include:
  • Disobeying reasonable orders under the threat of lethal force, such as at gunpoint.
You were being gunpointed to return stolen money. This is perfectly legal as per rule 5.2 Forced Withdrawals, meaning that by not complying, you have unequivocally and undeniably broken rule 3.4, as refusing to comply got you shot.

Our rules also expressly state that when you believe rules are being broken, you must continue to follow the rules yourself until a staff member can intervene. If it turns out you were right, you would be refunded for any lost items or money. You are not an administrator, you do not have the knowledge or the authority to be interpreting the rules to the extent that you are able to halt RP.

Nothing the other player did was against the rules.

Beyond that, you were found to have told the person gunpointing you to "suck my penis" instead of complying, and as such I will be adding rule 2.8 to your ban reason.

For the disconnecting part, the only reason your report took as long as it did is because you repeatedly claimed to have reasons to molotov the base, in spite of the fact that all of these reasons were collected from interactions that happened after you already threw the molotov. If you needed to go, you should have told the staff member that before leaving.

If you wish to complain about the length of the ban, you can create a staff complaint. If you wish to appeal to have it reduced instead, create an apology.
