gmod crash problem

hi
my friend wants me to join perpheads and play with him but whenever i am trying to connect gmod crashes. there is no crash report window but the game just closes down. im wondering is this a normal bug and can it be fixed? i have looked on forums and stuff to try and fix it but it was no use. it only happens with this server and i havent had this happen before

Have you tried the usual?
Verify game cache.
Re-install addons.
Re-install gmod.
Put all options to highest settings.

Try these, and if you've tried other things, then please post them here

thnx but i have tried these and they dont work
ive also tried running on my 2nd OS (linux) but it still wont work. i think maybe its my pc?
but i have i5-4670k, gtx 660 and 16gb ram so i dont understand why its causing problems((
