Why should this change:
The law 10.3 is currently identified as anyone who misuses it such as being disrespectful or a hoax call or misuses to the entirety of it that does not need emergency services commits an offence. Now the current law stands as an infraction.
However it should be increased to a felony to a maximum of 5 years and and liable to a $5,000.
The reasons that the 10,3 should be adjusted to a 5 year sentence as to due to 6.10 a law already in set that states the obstruction of emergency services commits an offence.
10.3 would apply to this matter as officers will respond to that situation which would all be the cause of the waste of emergency services which lives could have been at risk.
10.3 also should be a 5 year sentence as regarding to hoax calls. Hoax is defined as another word to fake. To deceive officers. And fake in the context of police work can also be considered as 6.5. 6.5 states :
Any person who fails to comply with the legal orders of a Law enforcement officer such as refusing to provide ID when detained or obstructs a Law enforcement officer executing their duties commits an offence.
6.5 is an arrestable offence as well as the 5 year sentence applied to that as well.
What is the aim of this change?
The aim of the change is to put a real stop to 10.3 as this law is hard to put a stop to even if it a fine.
With the charge of 5 years 5k as well as the reasons I have explained from above it will stop the likeliness of ever misuse emergency services. It as well as stops emergency services responding to hoax calls or and misuse of emergency services. The point is to stop making 911 calls so people.
It is also pretty necessary due to the amount of 911 incidents and calls that are mostly full of fakes.
