PREFACE
Welcome to the January 2026 edition of the Monthly Roundup. This newsletter is designed to keep our employees and the public updated with any changes in the city or department. Attached to the newsletter will be a message from the office of the Chiefs of Department, awards, key moments and careers. Any additions to the newsletter please contact Human Resources via helpdesk.
MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF
With the first month of 2026 already over our colleagues have settled back into the normal work rhythm after a well deserved break. On behalf of the Senior Management Team I wish you all a (late) happy new year and hope you will all achieve the goals you have set for yourself in the big 2026.
We are pleased all command vacancies have been filled with excellent candidates; once more I would like to congratulate Viper on their promotion to Lieutenant as part of their new position as CC Chairperson and The Peak on their promotion to Staff Sergeant, where they are now supporting the TFU command team. Unfortunately, this also means we had to say goodbye to Hayden and Walnash after their resignations of the aforementioned positions; thank you both for your continued service to the divisions you have worked in and the PD as a whole.
On the topic of TFU, we are very happy that the new TFO applications have been finished and released this month, featuring all new scenarios for applicants to go through on their way of becoming certified firearms officers. Other applications are also being worked on so keep your eye on the careers tab for some new and exciting positions!
Lastly, our Q3-Q4 Employee satisfaction survey has closed at the end of the year. The Human Resources team is working through all your responses, which we are very thankful for, to relay them to the respective command teams in our endless journey in improving the PD experience for you all.
- Deputy Chief of Department Jaden Rogerson
