Welcome to the March 2024 edition of the Monthly Roundup. This newsletter is designed to keep our employees and the public updated with any changes in the city or department. Attached to the newsletter will be a message from the office of the Chiefs of Department, awards, key moments and careers. Any additions to the newsletter please contact Human Resources via helpdesk.
Message from the Chief
Big news this month with the release of our new website! A massive thank you to our wonderful team of developers, headed by Sindarin, for taking on this mammoth task. While we still are in the process of migrating all resources and applications, as well as making continuous improvements, the new website is a nice upgrade from the first version of the website which served us valiantly for many years. Please continue to report any bugs you find to Development Services via the helpdesk.
Dispatch Command has, at the end of last month, announced their new campaign. The #EyesInTheSky campaign is aimed at increasing dispatcher activity as well as the promotion of teamwork between dispatchers and officers.
It is also time for the first Employee Satisfaction Survey of the year. Please take this opportunity to give us your feedback and make your voice heard.

Throughout March, Kieran has achieved multiple commendatory observation reports showcasing their professional and highly competent conduct as an officer, serving as a good example to others. Additionally, their over 150 hours on duty last month clearly shows their solid dedication to the department. Keep up the good work!"

"Now that the new PLPD Online has been released for a couple of weeks, I want to issue this award for to Sindarin for his outstanding contribution to the Department. He has spent a lot of his spare time working tirelessly leading this project and he continues to make improvements to the site daily. It has been great to see the Department finally move to a new and improved platform after it’s been talked about for years through previous Chiefs and I can only thank Sindarin for taking the initiative and finally being the individual who kicked off proper development. I look forward to seeing how the site progresses into the future. Well done!”
