Description of the idea: Similarly to how you can add your entire organization as a buddy, the PD should have one where officers have ride access by default every time you go on duty and you can choose to remove buddy access if you feel like patrolling alone without some random cop jumping into your car and refusing to get out.

Why should this be added? (pros): This allows you to patrol alone, or selectively choose who should get into your vehicle, especially after a raid where people suddenly decide they want to sit in your car for no real reason. Or make you their makeshift taxi without asking first. Anti-socialism ftw.

What negatives could this have? (cons): Could cause issues in shootouts where a cop who doesn't have buddy access to your swat van wants to get in to survive but you have to sit in a menu and give him access, and by the time you've done that he's already dead.

*Other additions: None.

just tell the officers to get out and if they don't listen to you call a supervisor or something like that. I don't think this is necesarily needed brudda!

But calling a supervisor takes time and wastes it on top of that. Why not just eliminate the problem alltogether?

This would definitely create more problems than it would fix.

Left my car 300m away, and we need to get to the bank -> can’t get in this random cops car

We are being shot at and need to retreat -> can’t get in the swat van

I am on your dying son and need to get to the hospital -> dead by the time the driver adds me to buddies

There are many more situations... If someone random enters your car without even asking, tell them to gtfo.

Edit, If they don’t get out, drive them to the forest and leave them there. It’s what I do, works perfectly

Opening F4 and clicking ride permissions under the blue PLPD buddy listing shouldn't take that long if it's an emergency tbh. The only problems it will cause is because you did it to yourself, every time you go on duty it should have ride permissions checked automatically. As a supervisor you'd still be able to override those permissions IMO. It will definitely be a problem if you're being shot at, no one's faster than bullets, even when giving ride permissions.

Its essential for police officers to be able to utilise each others vehicles in emergencies or have the ability to enter an officers car on the fly. I see no real reason for this idea to be implemented.
