[TOOL RELEASE] Smart Coca Timer Overlay, Fully Automatic, No More Guesswork!

Sick of squinting at your coca planter percentages or forgetting to set timers?

This smart overlay timer takes care of it all. Fully automatic, accurate, and 100% hands-off once set up.

What is it?​

COCA Smart Timer is a real-time overlay tool that uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to detect the percentage growth of your coca seeds on-screen. It then calculates the remaining time based on the default 38-minute timer used by normal planters.

No more phone timers or guessing games. This is a fully visual, smart solution made specifically for gaming.

Key Features​

✅ Automatic OCR Detection – Reads percentage from your selected screen area
⏱️ Smart Timer Logic – Calculates the remaining time for normal planters
In-Game Overlay – Transparent floating timer that stays on top of the game
(Overlay position is configurable via the tray icon)

Audio Alerts – Get notified with:
• 5-minute warning beep
• 1-minute double beep
• Unique 3-tone finish sound

Coca Leaf Theme – Clean, green UI and nature-style soundscape
Persistent Settings – Saves your trigger words and overlay settings
Trigger Word Customization – Change the activation/reset words from the tray icon
Zero Risk – No memory reading, no game injection, no file tampering. Just visual automation.

️ Limitations & Notes​

Currently supports only coca seeds
Only works with normal planters (38-minute timer). More seed types and planters are coming soon
⚠️ GMod must be in Windowed Mode to display the overlay
(Windowed mode has no performance loss. Fullscreen blocks overlays in Windows. This avoids the need to modify game files.)

️ How to Use It​

  1. Launch the App
    Open the EXE. It runs in the background and shows as a tray icon.
  2. Set Your Trigger Words
    Right-click the tray icon → Choose Trigger Words
    Set your activation/reset words (default is ccc for start, rrr for resetting the selection area of the planter ui).
  3. Start the Timer
    In-game, open your planter UI and type your trigger word (ccc by default) anywhere. Console, chat, etc.
    You'll be asked to select the screen area that shows the percentage text.
  4. Activate and Relax
    Type the trigger word again to start tracking.
    The timer begins immediately and updates as the growth progresses to 100%.
  5. Get Notified
    Audio alerts keep you aware. No need to alt-tab or watch the timer constantly.

It's actually open source you can review the entire source code on GitHub yourself. The .exe is compiled directly through GitHub Actions, so the build process is fully transparent. You're not downloading anything that isn't already in the repository, aside from the necessary dependencies, which are also fetched by GitHub during the build.

No offence, but surely just setting a timer on your phone would be more efficient? You can bring it with you if you want to leave your computer and it can work with all types of planters and seeds. Still looks sick though, i might try it out sometime (:

No offense taken at all that’s a totally fair point!

Using a phone timer definitely works, especially if you're stepping away or using different planter types. But this was originally just a personal side project I made for myself to make things smoother while farming. A few people liked the idea and asked about it, so I decided to polish it up and release it publicly. Totally optional no one needs it, but for anyone who wants an automated, hands-free experience, it’s here.

The idea is:
  • No need to manually set timers
  • No math or checking percentages
  • Just a trigger word in-game and it auto-tracks everything visually and audibly

That said, your method is 100% valid too appreciate the kind words, and if you ever decide to try it out, I’d love to hear what you think!
 
6.2 Third-Party Tools

The use of any third-party software/macros/scripts, or content that provides an advantage over other players is strictly prohibited. The only exceptions are third-party crosshairs and custom weapon textures, provided the textures are installed in the phcustomtextures folder. You can learn more about this on the forum guide.

Honestly, reading your points any opinion has changed. The annoyance of setting a phone timer after every plant would get repetitive. Having a software that automatically tells you when your drugs are done would be extremely useful and pretty sick.

Im on it, i just added v1.0.1 that has better debugging now when you run the trigger word it will create a .log file where the .exe is or the main.py and that way you should know the exact problem and report it back but hopefully you don't need that with the this version.
