Punishment Type: Warning
Appeal Type: Apology
Which staff member issued the punishment?: @sza
How long were you banned/blacklisted for?: Not Applicable

Your Steam Name: totario1
Your Roleplay Name: Mark Zendoro
Your SteamID: STEAM_0:1:569800326

Why were you punished?: 2.5 | Gunned a man down he perceived as a threat when they were unarmed and not a threat at all.

Why should this appeal be considered?: I want to sincerely apologize for the incident regarding Rule 2.5. It was never my intention to RDM or disrupt roleplay. In the heat of the moment, the mayor ran back towards his office shouting “GUN GUN GUN” multiple times, which made me believe he was in immediate danger. The individual sprinted upstairs unannounced and stood in a dark area, leaving me no time to properly assess the situation. Given the circumstances, and how the city hall was receiving constant attacks, I genuinely thought the mayor was about to be assassinated, and I reacted accordingly.

As soon as I realized my mistake, I immediately called EMS and got him revived as quickly as possible. I wanted to make sure the situation didn’t ruin his experience and tried to correct it as best as I could.

I take full responsibility for my actions and deeply regret the mistake. I have never had an incident like this before because I know how to assess threats properly, but this situation unfolded too quickly for me to make a better judgment. I understand how this may look from an outside perspective, but I want to assure you it was purely an accident, not reckless behaviour.

I beg for this to be removed, as I don’t want this mistake to define me or affect my future on the server. Please reconsider, as I truly regret what happened and will be more careful moving forward. I am willing to do anything necessary to make this right.

Thank you for your time, and I sincerely hope for your understanding.

This clip was provided by my friend, who was the mayor at the time. He acknowledged fault for the incident and kindly shared this footage with me.

I understand, but I believe an honest mistake in a high-pressure situation should be forgiven. The circumstances led me to genuinely think the mayor was in immediate danger, and I acted accordingly. I also made sure to call EMS right away to fix my mistake. I just ask for some understanding, as I had no intention of breaking the rules or ruining anyone’s experience.
