Punishment Type: Warning
Appeal Type: Dispute[Evidence]
Which staff member issued the punishment?: @Medium
How long were you banned/blacklisted for?: Not Applicable

Your Steam Name: dentaldoritos
Your Roleplay Name: Maddi Stone
Your SteamID: STEAM_0:0:483755076

Why were you punished?: 3.4 - User was gunpointed with a gun in passive stance and instead of doing something about it, user let the other player kill him.

Why should this appeal be considered?: This warn was given with no basis. The rules state it is not mandatory to resist and shoot the aggressor. "you may resist and try to shoot the aggressor" is what is actually written. This is defined as a choice. My choice was not to resist.

If you are unarmed you MUST COMPLY.
If you have a weapon in your inventory but not in your hands, you MUST COMPLY.
If you have a weapon in your hands, either in a passive or attack stance, you may resist and try to shoot the aggressor.
If you have a melee weapon at hand, you should comply unless the distance between you and your aggressor is very short.

Additional Information: This is exactly what is written in the rules:

If you are unarmed you MUST COMPLY.
If you have a weapon in your inventory but not in your hands, you MUST COMPLY.
If you have a weapon in your hands, either in a passive or attack stance, you may resist and try to shoot the aggressor.
If you have a melee weapon at hand, you should comply unless the distance between you and your aggressor is very short.

You had failed to act upon being gunpointed, whilst the other user did break the rules, you had also broken the rules by failing to make a decision by either resisting and shooting the person gunpointing you and or surrendering.

An important thing to note: if players are held at gunpoint while they have a weapon in a passive stance, they are required to make a decision by either resisting and shooting the aggressor or surrendering depending on the circumstance. To reiterate, the circumstance in which you stalled was not reasonable, and remaining in a passive stance for an extended period without a justifiable reason to shoot, such as defending yourself, would violate Rule 3.4.
