I can't link my discord to my account

Everytime I try, it says "A DM has been send to your inbox. Make sure to allow messages from server members!". However, I never receive these DMs and I've checked my privacy options multiple times to "Members only" or "All visitors". What to do?

Try copy these settings and try to link again, it must be getting caught by either not allowing the dm or being caught as spam
