Suggestion Title: Police Community support officers
Suggestion Description: Add a seperate role in PLDP through you can play as a Community support officer with only taser, this role dont have arrest powers you have ability to issue tickets and detain people, this role does have goverment radio and this role you are allowed to not use microphone aswell. This role doesnt have a car or if it does it only have access to Ford transit van. In this role you cant respond to armed situations. Requirement to apply bit easier than police officer. Could be a role before becoming a police officer

Why should this be added?:
Would be a cool adition to the PD, for people who dont want to go in gunfights with guns and dont want to have guns or to speak with microphone, and it would be more RP role
Also note: personally it is funny to me that in the server Taser is treated more serious than a firearm since when you apply for police you firstly recieve a firearm which can kill, and then taser if you apply for a training

What negatives could this have?:
- Regular police officer have these abilities (but by adding my suggested it would be diffrent)

What problem would this suggestion solve?: Solve the problem for people who dont want to go in Firefights with guns and dont want to have guns or to speak with microphone, and it would be more RP role

Yea, in UK equilivent to PCSO

I’ve been drafting an idea for something vaguely (and I mean vaguely in the broadest sense) similar to this. The idea of having more passive roles in the PD where attending shootouts is not remotely an expectation is ideal. However, implementing a “community support officer” role is not really something I see as a necessity or really even a useful thing.

The basic power of arrest is bestowed upon all officers, and the taser is a whitelisted item, meaning that this “PCSO” role would require taser whitelisting just to have the basic right to self defense. The last thing the PD needs is Officers you can consequently treat like shit and refuse to take seriously when the average player is already calling for supervisors to dispute citations.

Having passive roles in the PD (as passive as they can be, at least) is something I am very interested in seeing in the future, but what you’ve described seems to me like the idea is to add human punching bags that wander the map ready to take verbal abuse on demand.

Fundamentally, the idea of a PCSO is a very British thing too. Paralake isn’t based remotely in Britain, and whilst our PD borrows aspects of British policing, namely with the idea of Light TFU (Which the general idea was based off of SCO19 and other firearms specialist officers around Europe), Stuff like this which lacks practical application, in my opinion, should be omitted in favour of more effective and fit for purpose additions.

Tl;dr: I like the idea of more passive oriented police roles, but this just ain’t it.

Well what are your proposition? what would you add or remove to make this passive PD role useful and at the same time be diffrent, to fit practical applications?

Personally the role could be a seperate role just like dispatcher has its own slots and is seperate you would apply in PLPD the training could be similar or combine both patrol officer and taser certification aspects

Yes, but I was giving example the same stuff are from other Countries Like US or Canada have auxiliary officer basically same thing
Also its bit funny that more than half of people who play the server are from UK

I like the idea of this. However it would need a fair bit of tweaking to add into the game. However you can technically do this right now as you have the option to not have a pistol and you can just wonder about the city.
