Welcome to the August 2025 edition of the Monthly Roundup. This newsletter is designed to keep our employees and the public updated with any changes in the city or department. Attached to the newsletter will be a message from the office of the Chiefs of Department, awards, key moments and careers. Any additions to the newsletter please contact Human Resources via helpdesk.
MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF
And just like that, another successful month has passed for the PLPD, bringing us to September.
It's my pleasure to welcome back ex-Chief of Department and long-standing Complaint Committee member, Hayden, as Complaint Committee Chairman. He is already hard at work ensuring complaints are closed efficiently. I would also like to give my appreciation to Mallard as the outgoing Chairman for all their hard work.
In future news, the Chiefs of Department and PLPD senior management will be looking into a review of current policies with the view to increase clarity, improve completeness, and reduce redundancy. We have already received a number of helpdesk tickets with suggestions which I am very thankful for, please feel free to create a helpdesk ticket for me to pick up if you have any thoughts on current department policies; I will reply to tickets individually in due time.

It is my pleasure to recognize Harry as the Officer of the Month for August on behalf of the Office of Operation Services. Harry was nominated due to his outstanding commitment to supporting his colleagues and stepping up when needed. Whether it's assisting with tracking down suspects, transporting them, or providing crucial & necessary support during pursuits, he has proven himself to be both proactive and reliable. Unlike many officers who gravitate towards the high-action shootouts, Harry has set an excellent example by focusing on the core responsibilities of policing. This has made him an invaluable asset to the department and a role model for other officers. Congratulations & keep up the good work!
