Preface
Welcome to the August 2022 edition of the Monthly Roundup. This newsletter is designed to keep our employees and the public updated with any changes in the city or department. Attached to the newsletter will be a message from the office of the Chiefs of Department, awards, key moments and careers. Any additions to the newsletter please contact Public Relations via helpdesk.
Message from the Chief
“The month of August has seen multiple changes for the department, first of which was the appointment of the new Chief of Department and Deputy Chief of Department. I would like to give my thanks to all those involved who gave their time to be involved in the selection process. Please keep an eye out for more announcements which will come from myself and Hayden in the coming weeks with more details on our ideas and plans for the department. The Road Traffic Unit has also recruited a new Lieutenant and Staff Sergeant into their command team this month and recruitment for a new Head of Traffic is currently ongoing following Mina’s resignation from the position.
The Public Relations team is now known as Human Resources and is taking up more responsibilities within the department, now being responsible for handling resignations and reinstatement requests along with continuing to function as a point of contact for the department, gathering employee and community feedback, and publishing the Monthly Roundup. Mallard, our head of Human Resources, will be hosting a game night playing Among Us on September the 11th at 8pm (BST/GMT+1). Further details are in the separate announcement post.
This month has seen many promotions with ranks from Senior Officers to Lieutenants; it is excellent to see people receiving the rank and recognition they deserve for their efforts and dedication to the department. Congratulations to all of you!
Now that the new Chiefs have been selected, we are announcing that the next Pan PLPD will be taking place this September. This is an opportunity for anybody within the community to propose questions to the Senior Management Team in a public Q&A session. We will be sending around a form to submit your questions shortly.
With August now coming to the close, Hayden and I remain grateful for all the work people continue to put into the department. Our doors are always open, so feel welcome to reach out to us via the helpdesk, Steam, or a private message.”

In addition to this, Mallard has been actively responding and sorting feedback on multiple employee satisfaction surveys to boost employee morale and ensure people are being heard over the past few months as well, which demonstrates excellent public service."
