Suggestion Title: Community Service
Suggestion Description: Players serving a longer sentence of 7+ years without any hope of getting jailbroken, or maybe just all prisoners, may opt in to do community service.

Drop some ideas for what you think would work?

Personally I only can think of a janitor.

A few spots are picked for prisoners to clean. Upon opting in, the spot becomes dirty and the job of the prisoner is to clean it with a broom which should take about 30s but knock off 1 minute or so.

Rectification for the abuse potential:
Prisoners on community service would be wearing an "ankle monitor," which pings their location for 10 minutes, or so, after they are broken out revealing their location constantly. Opting in to comm service to abuse it in this way should be heavily punished mechanically as a result by the in game feature making it disadvantageous as otherwise it would be totally unbalanced.

Why should this be added?:
- Keeps the game more engaging
- Lets players not resort to any more afk non-sense and actually socialize
- Makes it possible as a criminal to lower your sentence and get out faster
- Makes it more fun as a cop to see the murderer do house chores.
- Players can still opt out and just afk the timer if they so wish.

What negatives could this have?:
- Would be easier to break out prisoners who opt in knowing their org will break in to get them. (Read the above disclaimer)
- Some feel the long afk timer is deserved?

What problem would this suggestion solve?: Being a prisoner provides no roleplay in a server meant for it and forces players to afk when they could be socializing while roleplaying to lower their sentence.

People can still choose to afk if they prefer and nothing is forced.

I don't know why people are down voting this when it gives a chance for people to do something while in jail rather than being locked in jail cell and the only thing you can do is talk to people.

this will just cause more issues and rewards bad behavior
Raids / crimes are not an issue, they are roleplay which PD are meant to handle
This suggestion adds a way for people to stay engaged after being arrested, instead of AFKing or tabbing out each time because there is nothing to do
- Makes it more fun as a cop to see the murderer do house chores.
this would be funny tbh
Honestly think the whole jail/pd needs an overhaul, jails rn are just dark rp afk chamber sim and there should definetly be some activities
early for “good behavior” this will just cause more issues and rewards bad behavior
how does getting out for good behaviour reward bad behaviour aswell? lol

No.

Absolutely not. I don’t want people who have 5+ murders under their belt to get out early for “good behavior” this will just cause more issues and rewards bad behavior which we shouldn’t be doing
We should be reasonable.

Criminals doing crime are still players role playing to that point. It’s not like someone really died IRL.

The afk consequence is a dark RP counter intuitive approach. It is effectively doing the opposite of keeping players engaged and encouraging “good behavior,” whatever that means.

Besides, I assume the mindset of the critics is that 10 minutes is deserved for inflicting 5 minutes. I feel like The shallowness of that stance probably cannot be overstated, but even following that logic? The mechanic knocks off 30s due to active labor. This means the most someone dealt 10 years can mitigate is 5 minutes by actively working for it, which makes it even with a black screen death but manually earned.

This is a roleplay server. Especially since we can go for “10 years”, why not have the opportunity to get out a couple years early for good behavior. Not everyone that gets 8+ years is a murder charge on the server.

Every time I saw this system implemented on a server, it was really horrible and tedious, to the point that I'd rather just afk. I do agree that maybe prisoners should get to do something, but I don't think this would actually add any value to the server.

Hasty Generalization.

Why wouldn’t it work? There is no substance as to how or why, just an empty critique that presumes it would be guaranteed to turn out “horrible and tedious.”

False equivalence.

That’s Dark RP, this is PERP. Two entirely different game modes

By having a different perspective from both reports and watching people in noclip. The attention span of your average PERP player is a second or two when outside of a shootout (locked in during one though)

And it's not only that it wouldn't work, it would cause issues with breaking people out of jail and so on.

Another thing that you must also be aware of is that servers that typically try to introduce something like this have jail times, which can go way above 15 minutes, let alone merely 10.

So trust me most players would prefer scrolling their reels, tiktok or (ew) youtube shorts, than to do stuff like that to get a minute or two off.

A better solution to boredom in jail is to allow people to socialize and/or use the games on their phones (without the other apps)

Maybe present people with an option if jailed for 7+ years, if they chose to do the community service they accept they cannot be broken out?

i think realistically, it will just be a bunch of sweaters punching eachother and then every1 else will just afk instead. I think even the roleplayers will get bored of it after the first few times, not to mention that people who will enjoy this are probably not going to jail for 7 + years very often. It also presents cops with the task of containing prisoners that they have already dealt with

The issue isn't them. The issue is the people breaking them out. There is no way they could be aware of that.

Then they shouldn't call ten toes if they plan to take the option to do tasks, if they don't call it they shouldn't be breaking them out

You do a raid, your buddy gets downed, you escape.
You see your buddy in a police car near PD.
You decide to raid the PD, because you had every reason to.
Your buddy chose to pick community service.
You get punished for 3.4.

Then change the rule alongside with the potential addition of this so that you need verbal confirmation from the person being arrested

ts frying me twin :dead: you sound like your complaining about a mass murderer IRL getting out, its a video game twin, people want to play the video game, i say doing stuff to get out quicker is a far enough mechanic tbh.
