Punishment Type: Ban
Punishment Subtype: Server Ban
Appeal Type: Dispute[Evidence]
Which staff member issued the punishment?: @Marcusy
How long were you banned/blacklisted for?: 3 Days

Your Steam Name: Liquid_Pubg
Your Roleplay Name: Erin Firestar
Your SteamID: STEAM_0:0:224074237

Why were you punished?: "2.5 - User placed a car bomb on a vehicle without a valid reason, resulting in another player’s death."

Why should this appeal be considered?: I only place car bombs on players that either raid my base, mug me, or shoot at me without killing me (giving me kos). If he had checked the logs or demo, he would have seen that the player had done one of these activities. This gave me kos. When you just drive up to someone and they point their gun at you, say nothing and shoot at you, does it not give you kos? In this scenario, he got out of his car, pointed his gun at me, and shot at me.. There was no valid reason, no discussion, no reason for him to shoot me driving by in my car. Being shot at for no apparent reason would make me value my life as the player was randomly attempting to kill me, as shown in the clip. Additionally: I was told by a veteran player that you need kos to place a car bomb and one of the ways to get that is players mugging you, players raiding your base, players pointing their guns at you off safety, or players shooting at you. Is that not the case? If this isn't the case, please tell me the scenarios that allow kos (car bombing), as the rules are vague at best on what allows a player kos.

Never have I received a warning for this sort of thing, so it's a bit strange that I'd instantly be receiving a ban for something like this. Especially when the community, when discussing it in the chatbot are of mixed opinion on whether someone shooting at you would give you kos (meaning there isn't a clear distinction on a reason why you wouldn't get kos - community is of the opinion that someone shooting at you would indeed give you kos). I'd understand if I'd been told previously that this was something not allowed, but an instant ban for a new player that's never been warned for this, over something that the community, even is unaware on what the rule should be, is a bit extreme, is it not?

Also, I was just "banned" at random with no chance to speak to the admin about the case. So no one has told me which player I need to send evidence for and I have bombed quite a few cars after getting kos.. I was logged into the game at the time, but no one came to speak to me?! The last car bomb I set off was a few days back, so pretty strange I just get banned at random all of a sudden today.

This will be reviewed as soon as possible.

Just a quick question, did you see the Action Request that was made on you? The Staff Team attempted to contact you there. The evidence you provided has nothing to do with this situation.

I didn't even know this action report existed until just now. Whatever ping you used there did not give me any sort of notification, so I'm, responding to it here now. This is the first time I've really perused the reports section of the forums since I just started playing this ~a month ago ( and as you can see I have a total of 3 messages on the server, all from this event we are discussing here, so pretty new to all this. to answer your questions:

Why did you car bomb them for a warning shot? He pointed his gun at me and shot at me as shown in the clip. I was told by a veteran player that you need kos to place a car bomb and one of the ways to get that is players mugging you, players raiding your base, players pointing their guns at you off safety, or players shooting at you. Is that not the case? If this isn't the case, please tell me the scenarios that allow kos (car bombing), as the rules are vague at best on what allows a player kos.

And did you hear his commands in local chat when you were running away? I did not see the commands in local chat until I looked back at the footage after dying. That's the first time I've experienced anyone chasing after me like that while spamming something in local, so it was not noticeable enough for me to see it while trying to get away from an area where there was a guy with a gun. Additionally, I thought the sidewalks were public spaces? Is he allowed to mug me there? I wouldn't think to watch local chat for that sort of thing there since it was a public place, so no reason for me to watch for mugging commands.

Never have I received a warning for this sort of thing, so it's a bit strange that I'd instantly be receiving a ban for something like this. Especially when the community, when discussing it in the chatbot are of mixed opinion on whether someone shooting at you would give you kos. I'd understand if I'd been told previously that this was something not allowed, but an instant ban for a new player over something that the community even is unaware of the rule is a bit extreme, is it not?

Also, just for my information, because I want clarification on something mentioned here for my future knowledge: Are you not allowed to place a car bomb on a vehicle if there are other cars nearby? I just noticed he said in his report about my car bomb affecting unrelated cars, so I wanted to confirm on this so I'm aware for the future?

Finally figured out how to use demos, so I uploaded the evidence from my side here.

To reiterate: I'm driving around minding my own business when some crazy person gets out of their car, points their gun at me and shoots at me. Please explain to me how this does not justify kos?

Reason to KOS does not mean reason to car bomb someone. You must only use car bombs when it is beneficial to you, which in this case it was not.
Bombs and molotovs are powerful tools in PERPHeads, however, they can also be very destructive. You must not make use of these chaos-engendering devices unless doing so is significantly beneficial to you and will not impact the property of people who are uninvolved. It is important to understand the devastating capabilities that these devices have, and that usage of them will often be heavily scrutinised due to the large amounts of damage that they can inflict.
For this reason the ban is valid.

Furthermore, you were clearly at gunpoint and ran away so consider yourself lucky that was not added to the ban.
