Suggestion Title: Car Alarm Tweaks
Suggestion Description: Remove the automatic incident creation from a vehicle being stolen. Car alarm should still audibly sound, but should by default not alert police.
Add an after-market upgrade available either in Collier's Autos, or in the Car Dealer that gives the vehicle an uplink connection to the PD Database, and automatically creates an incident for the PD to track much like it does right now.
The cost of this upgrade should range between $250,000 - $1,000,000, independent of vehicle cost or type. 50% refundable when selling the vehicle.
Edit: It should be noted that chop shop cars should remain unaffected, or spawn with the upgrade automatically.
Why should this be added?:
- At the time of the creation of this suggestion, the PD is nearly omniscient. If you break down a door, chances are it'll trigger an alarm and the PD will know about it. If you break into a car, the PD will know about it. If you raid a property and avoid the break-in alarm, someone is bound to be carrying a life-alert or send a 911 call to the PD and they'll know about it. This suggestion aims to dampen that, and give the criminal side of the server more of an opportunity to avoid the PD with the correct approaches.
- This suggestion aims to make more room for the PD to breathe between incidents, and to give officers more of an investigative role rather than a preventative one.
- Adds another money sink to work towards for vehicles.
What negatives could this have?:
- Nothing significant, the option to obtain a car alarm is there, and will be entirely down to user preference. If there had to be a downside, it'd be that the players that lean on the poor side won't be able to afford alarms like these. If they want to prevent that temporarily, they can invest in car security upgrades whilst saving for the upgrade.
- If nobody purchases the upgrade, RTU will have fewer vehicle-related incidents to chase.
What problem would this suggestion solve?: The problem this suggestion aims to solve is PD omniscience and hyperactivity. Peak time PD is incredibly chaotic, insanely fast-paced and extremely mind-numbing when the only thing you seem to be able to do is respond to shootout after shootout with minimal to no breaks between them.
