Suggestion Title: Catalytic converter theft
Suggestion Description: A blow torch is added as an item in the game.
1x Propane tank - $1,650
2x Metal rods - $1,100
4x Pieces of metal - $1,540
5x Plastic - $1,100
Total = $5,390
Thieves now can take this item, approach any vehicle, search the bottom of it for a catalytic converter, blowtorch the part for valuable metals to steal, and leave with the stolen goods.
Blow torching produces a loud, satisfying, and unique Fwoosh sound
Potentially add a feature where:
1) lower quality cars produce a batch of Pieces of Metal
2) High quality cars produce a batch of Refined Metals
Investigation:
1) A residue of car parts will be left at the scene of the crime for police to find for investigation.
2) The blow torch itself will be very hot when checked for temperature and cool off after use over time.
Blowtorches can be confiscated, but are not inherently illegal.
Potentially make it so the vehicle which is blowtorched is disabled or majorly damaged.
Stolen metals can be later sold at Uncle Cos Hardware's, to other players, or used for crafting.
Some possible balancing features to consider:
1) Disabling the robbery on Police vehicles
2) Disabling the robbery on Fire and Medical vehicles
3) Making the R&G for searching a vehicle more favored towards higher-end cars to deter players from targeting poor players
Why should this be added?:
- Fun new way to do crime
- Does not necessitate shooting or killing anyone
- People can get into fun chases
- Makes for probably some creative ways that people will try to lie their way out of it (i.e pretending to be mechanics, claiming to own the car, etc..)
What negatives could this have?:
- I can see this resembling the way people complained about the organization XP from robbing cars being farmed so it would also require a proper implementation to address this concern.
