Why were you punished?: 2.5 - Player shot an unarmed person while raiding them

So right before i was gonna start the raid i find someone outside looking at the balcony like as hes checking if the barricades covers all of it as if he would be growing on the balcony. So i ask him if he lives there and of course he is very skeptical to answer and says something like 50/50 and tries to avoid the question as good as he can, after some more talk he heads inside his apartment and i said im just gonna wait for my friend because i had a gun on my back and was standing right now basically outside his door, i go up a pair of stairs and he later walks inside. After a few seconds i then go downstairs and start breaking into his door which then leads to me fatally shooting him while he was unarmed hence the 2.5 ban.
Now i really thought he would have a gun or try and defend his property since i thought he had drugs inside because of the barricades, and especially after our conversation and me being extremely suspicius with my questions and gun. So when i peak the door i just shoot him without really looking if he had an gun in his hand since i just assumed he would try and defend said drugs, which is entirely my fault and im really sorry for being too trigger happy and eager to shoot without trying to gather more information.
But there was no drugs inside and the user was completely unarmed and after reviewing the clip where i broke in im pretty sure he even said something like ''come on in'' even greeting me and being hospitable even after i break down his door with a gun in my hand, which honestly makes me feel bad for him so im actually really sorry. I know what i did was wrong and i will try my very best to gather as much information i can next time and not be so goddam eager to shoot.
