I think this is a great idea. Only way to deal with car bombs is isolate and shoot it to blow up the car. Although I won't lie the isolating and detonating is realistic to some departmetnts SOP, but ingame with the amount of car bombs people place it gets too crazy.

No it is actually distance based. It does the check every so often and then does nothing if a player is too close to the spot it picks, waits, then repeat until it works. This was how it was explained to me by people who know more than we do.

That's 1-3 seconds after you hit a turn key not 1-3 seconds in general. Your solution of position checking sounds extremely expensive for cpu time.

I think what would be best is 1-3 seconds after you press the turn key it turns off automatically. Just due to the fact that sometimes you gotta tap the button to make turns due to gmod physics as opposed to hold it completely and so halfway through the turn it wouldn't shut off.
