So currently I am looking at next weekend to publish the changes I have been working on. Nothing crazy but some good QoL things for now, both mentioned on here and some that I have kept secret.

Not trying to say you weren't, I'm just trying to say that they should go vote neutrally on their own feelings of it rather than only reading a dissenting opinion first. Not meaning yours is right or wrong. As there are pros and cons both ways.

Hence why I'm making a poll, and as stated, it may not happen regardless of outcome. It's just to gauge how people feel currently or with future changes.

I have tried many different settings we have currently to find a better feel for any gun. However, in some of my research/analysis into how I think recoil is handled in other games, I believe I found some of what makes PH fall short ”controllable" or "predictable", apart from animations. But how...

@SomeUser Based on that clip, I'm just curious. Besides hit markers, probably being able to move slightly faster, and likely faster ADS time; what would you say makes that feel different? Watching in slow motion, the animation is also quite jumpy when shooting with a decent amount of recoil.

Something to consider when I talk about any sort of recoil change. We are not Battlefield or CoD so no run and gun type gunplay. We tend treat characters as an average person, not a seasoned combat veteran. That said, my goal is to make it feel more manageable, if possible.

Leaked doesn't really explain much. Just because someone made a changed file doesn't mean it's official or approved for use. One reason it often is often of low interest is because of it meaning the animation changes and the like. It is a ton of work for all involved. It also means weapon...

@SomeUser Very possible. Some may be more possible to change/tweak easily to be viable than others. As some may be more a fault of the model itself and others would be the animations it has. Either way, there are many considerations to be had with how gunplay feels with each one independently.

Point remains the same. So... I'm not sure what your point really is. Not to mention, I don't know if the files you're talking about were distributed by a staff member or not. It'd be easy enough for someone to modify a file to remove certain animations themselves. But as stated, this would...

I mean that's like saying you can change the model to be invisible so it doesn't block your view. Just because it's possible doesn't mean it's allowed.

For a long time it was the M4. Like with any other game, the meta changes every now and then. One reason the SCAR is so popular is simply the firerate is fairly low, so it's easier to control compared to others with the way things are currently handled. So we may have to move from more strictly...

I have no idea what that means. Just because we have them doesn't mean it's a quick or simple change. Not only that but I do not do animations apart from very simple ones like the ceiling fan typically speaking. And like cars, we have a ton of guns, so animation changes are not a small task.

@Creepis As stated, there are some bugs and flaws I will be fixing in the short term. @sza I addressed the pattern idea in a previous comment. @Clarky Animations are not my responsibility, but yes, if reworked I would like them all to obscure vision less.

So as an update with nothing new yet. I was looking at new ways we could do recoil, so a lot of testing various means with nothing definitive yet that has felt right. I might make a comprehensive poll about gunplay as it currently is soon.

I agree @Clarky all owned doors can be locked which at a certain point becomes troublesome for carrying enough tools in some properties. A breaching shotgun, I think that should be restricted to police like C2 is. As for blowing off the hinges, that'd be based on distance probably, more often...

Part of my thinking for this was simply that C2 can be detonated safely nearby as it is a "shaped" charge designed to blow open a door. A grenade on the other hand requires you to clear the area. Crowbars and lockpicks require you to put yourself in a vulnerable spot though which often results...

We can easily modify what all the timed/remote ones do as well as make it so grenades would not open metal doors plus their range would be tiny by comparison. Also grenades themselves are not very cheap so it's not the most economical decision to use to do this task. It's more so to have the...

To further demonstrate this. Here's a before and after for the ACOG at the "rifle" range. At the range it might seem helpful having that kind of zoom but in theory the small amount of zoom lets you track and sight in a target better especially when taking shots. Before: After:

It actually makes it infinitely nicer to use, between the small sight picture and too much zoom it's really not very good as it is now, nor would it be with only increasing the sight picture. Here's an example at the "rifle" range, as it's not meant for sniping in the same way scopes are.

As an added bonus, here's an example of how the ACOG would now look when adapted to scale. It isn't much magnifcation, otherwise it would be just as good as an actual scope, so to keep it proportional it had to be nerfed but it still could be helpful in some cases.

There is quite a bit but this will make it less so you might not be able to tell. Anyways, here's a before and after at the longest range using the Nightforce. The before seems good in theory but with moving targets and the target is near the farthest reach of draw distance... It might not be...

Keep in mind that this will severely limit scopes for their magnification so there won't be large differences between each one. Which some people may like and others won't, but vote however you feel about the idea behind it.

One thing to note, this may result in some of the scopes clipping into your face when taking a shot (mainly noticing with the M24 when using the bolt to load a new bullet into the chamber) but I think it's worth the tradeoff as it's minor and not a huge problem if you ask me.
