Why should this player be punished?: While setting a warrant for another individual beneath the highway near Subs and conducting traffic control, I observed the vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign. When I attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the user chose to flee instead, ultimately leading to a major incident at the City Intersection where an officer was struck by the vehicle and multiple other cars got spiked as well.
After the suspects were apprehended and returned to the Police Department, I conducted a records check and confirmed that none of the occupants had any active warrants or DNA linking them to any previous criminal offences. Based on these findings, I believe the driver failed to properly assess why they were being stopped before making the decision to flee from the police.
While it could be argued that the traffic stop may have escalated into a charge under 12.12, the initial reason for the stop was the violation of Section 12.5.
