Addressing Hit Registration Issues

needs to be moved to sandbox, not properly released ik but it’s still accessible to the public, gmod is too old for what perp needs and wants to be, the graphics and visuals will be alot better and performance will be a lot better, modern hardware should not be doing less than 60 fps (mainly 30 or less in busy areas), the server would thrive more on sandbox and have less bugs and more flexibility (identity wise, visual wise and coding wise) you can’t teach an old dog new tricks
Re-platforming our entire community to solve one or two issues with garrys mod's platform just isn't feasible. We've long established a lasting playerbase with player retention in some cases lasting well over a decade with many users. Garrys mod comes with a whole bunch of accessibility due to being a long established platform. Jumping ship to s&box before its community even comes close to garrys mod would be an immense downgrade.

Onto the main topic, I'll expand on the quote of mine OP Put in his title thread:

PERP Was a high-tick server during its dying era and hitreg was almost entirely fine. Any complaints were proven clientside issues due to ping. You can have a high tick server or a high playercount, high detail server, you can't have both.

Contrary to popular belief PERP Guns don't run off of a simple hitscan mechanic either. There are ballistic physics, its just hard to notice. Drop, a penetration stat that affects how much damage a bullet will do to a car / armour / wall, spread, etc. The system isn't just a simple hitscan method. People don't still all genuinely believe every single PLPD John Doe is a trained leg crippling marksman, right? They're aiming centre of mass and the bullet goes down to your legs.

I prefer what we have now to the good hitreg era where we we were peaking 30 or so players on our best of days, driving round the map with our org looking for a property to raid for longer than I'd liked to have been just to come up empty because my raiding party of 8 people literally constituted 1/3rd of the playercount on the server, having to resort to hitting some solo / duo basing John Doe's in the least cinematic, most anticlimactic fashion possible because we literally couldn't find any other base to hit. If hitreg issues are bought about as a sacrifice to actually having a server that feels alive, then I personally see it as a noble sacrifice.

Playable combat with functional but flawed hit registration but having every corner of the map feel alive & having many varied interactions just like peak PERP > Hopping onto a server to shoot the same 4 TFO's repeatedly daily and then joining the police force to shoot the same 8 crim mains every day. No diff.
