Suggestion Title: AR15 and AR10 Buffer tube
Suggestion Description: Adding Buffer tubes to the M16, M4A1, and SR25.
Rather than editing the Model to accommodate for this, which would likely require reanimation work alongside it, I’ve been told it’s entirely possible to have the Buffer tube appear as a “default attachment” that appears on the gun when there is no stock. Upon putting a stock on it, The buffer tube would be replaced by the stock.
People do rarely use the guns without stocks. Realistically a bog standard AR15 variant wouldn’t work without a buffer tube, same as the AR10 (SR25).
As you can see for the attached image, the buffer tube is hollow and houses the recoil spring, something that allows the rifle to actually cycle.
Why should this be added?:
- Realistic model, QoL update in terms of realism. Makes the gun make more sense.
- Alongside making the gun make more sense from a realism perspective, this will also hugely improve scene building, as a placed stockless Armalite rifle won’t look silly in builds.
- Beyond modelling work it shouldn’t be a huge task to pull off.
What negatives could this have?:
- Modelling work required (con?)
- Whilst it’s a huge aestetic change, it would simply be an aestetic change.
What problem would this suggestion solve?: Patching an unrealistic design choice we’ve had for years.
