Punishment Type: Ban
Appeal Type: Apology
Which staff member issued the punishment?: a1l+3izu+draxen
How long were you banned/blacklisted for?: Permanent
Your Steam Name: one step ahead
Your Roleplay Name: shirley shoutherland
Your SteamID: STEAM_0:1:433153854
Why were you banned/blacklisted?: 2.5 - User together with his friend, stole packages from the delivery guy, and threw them into the sea. They were "roleplaying as package theifes" and also wanted the delivery guy to give up his job to them. Extremely rude and extremely excessively negative towards the delivery guy who was just trying to do his job. // Extended by A1L & 3izu: Toxicity.
Why should this appeal be considered?: Hey everyone,
I'd take a minute and address something that happened way back 5–6 months ago on PerpHeads that resulted in my ban. I've put a lot of time thinking about it, and I think it's important to be up front — with the community, the staff, and myself.
I was a party to an event at the time, where I behaved badly in a dispute during a game. I had been accused of blackmail, and I knew that I hadn't. Instead of keeping my head and attempting to recount what had occurred, I let rage take hold. I got angry, and in a moment of fury, I said some things that I didn't in any way have the right to say — including personal slurs and a racial slur. That isn't something I'm all that proud of, and I totally understand why I got banned.
The truth is, I was toxic. I wasn't listening. I wasn't acting like an adult. I responded with hostility instead of politeness, and I insulted somebody in a way that isn't very representative of who I want to be — especially in a group like PerpHeads that thrives on roleplay, respect, and cooperation.
Looking back now, I can easily see how I should have done it differently:
I could have stayed calm and said that I didn't do it.
I could have left staff to do their job.
I most certainly should not have insulted anyone or used obscenities.
If the very situation happened today, I'd walk away from the argument, explain myself in a calm manner, and be polite with the staff. No insults. No short temper. Just respect and honesty.
I know that apologies can't undo what occurred, but I hope they can serve as evidence of growth. I had time off to sit and reflect and become a better person. I've grown a lot since then, and I truly do miss the server, the RP, and the community. I want to come back — not just to play, but to prove that I can be better. That I am better.
Thanks for reading. I know trust needs to be gained, and I'll do so if I'm granted the chance.
