Why were you punished?: Mass RDM
Why should this appeal be considered?:
I would like to begin by giving my sincerest and most heartfelt apology for my actions that resulted in my Mass RDM ban. I understand fully that what I did was not acceptable and totally against server rules. I accept full responsibility for my actions and the harm they caused other players and staff members. This is not an apology letter — this is a letter of acknowledgment of what I did wrong, an explanation of what I have learned from it, and a request for a sincere second chance to show that I am capable of doing better.
When I engaged in Mass RDM, I wasn't considering the repercussions. I wasn't thinking about how my actions would hurt other people or how they would ruin the experience for the whole server. I was being impulsive, perhaps because I was bored, frustrated, or just made a bad choice at the moment. Whatever the reason, there is no excuse for it. Now that I know what I did, I know that I was selfish and I was disrespecting the other players who were on the server to have fun, and also making it difficult for the staff who had to handle the situation. In hindsight, I am ashamed of what I did and embarrassed that I disrespected a community which I really love being a part of.
After being banned, I've had plenty of time to reflect on why I did what I did and how much I lost due to that one wrong choice. This server is not some arbitrary location to host Garry's Mod — it's a community with rules, structure, and individuals who care about ensuring that everyone has a good time. The staff takes the time to help keep it in order, and the players add to the environment that makes things fun. By doing Mass RDM, not only did I disrespect the rules, but also the individuals that make the server worth coming to. I took that for granted, and I really do regret it.
I also understand now how crucial rules are in keeping a community like this running efficiently. Rules to me back then were restrictions, but I've learned that they're actually what keep everything intact. They ensure that everyone gets a fair, balanced, and pleasant time. Without those rules — and without people following them — the server wouldn't exist. What I did directly opposed that, and I get why a ban was needed. It was warranted, and I earned it. But I have also learned from it, and I hope that lesson will serve me well in returning as a better player.
If I ever get the chance to come back, I guarantee that I will obey all the rules and treat players and personnel with respect at all times. I will not repeat the mistake again. In reality, I want to be on the positive side of the community — the one that assists new players, enforces fair play, and maintains the good atmosphere of the server. I have witnessed how well this community could be if everyone collaborated, and I want to be a part of it again, only this time in a better manner.
I know that trust must be regained. I don't hope for forgiveness right away or special consideration. I simply hope to have the chance to prove that I learned something from this and that I can be a good, respectful member of the server once more. I really do miss the interactions, the good times, and the community this server offers. Being banned has made me see how much I appreciated being a part of it, even though sometimes I didn't express it earlier.
I wish to earnestly thank the staff for reading this and for looking into my apology. I understand that it's not easy moderating and running a server, and my actions just made their job more difficult. For that, I'm really sorry. I appreciate the time and effort that the staff invested in sustaining this community, and if permitted to return, I will do my best to appreciate that effort and comply with the team's expectations.
Again, I want to apologize to everyone who was hurt by my actions — to the players who were randomly killed, to the staff who had to tolerate my actions, and to the community that I disrespected. I am fully responsible for what I did, and I realize the severity of it. I have learned a lot from this experience and am prepared to proceed with a more positive attitude and a greater respect for the game, the players, and the rules.
Thank you for reading this and for giving me a chance to express my remorse. I hope you’ll consider allowing me to return so that I can prove that I’ve changed and that I truly want to be a positive part of the server community again.
Sincerely,
WAITWHAT1460-s
