Why were you punished?: Cheating - I was using modified textures and custom sound effects to gain unfair advantage.
Why should this appeal be considered?: I’m submitting this appeal as it has now been exactly 3 years since my ban on July 22, 2023. Having this substantial amount of time away from the server has given me plenty of time to reflect on my mistakes and understand why my actions were unacceptable.
When I originally used those modified texture and sound files, I treated them far too casually. They were files shared with me by someone else, and after returning from a previous month-long ban I mistakenly left them sitting in my game files without thinking. However, I know that negligence isn't an excuse as I should have been proactive in cleaning them out, especially given that others were being punished for using those exact same modifications.
Whether it was intentional or just careless on my part, using those modified files gave an unfair advantage and hurt the integrity of the server. I take full responsibility for not taking the rules seriously and keeping my files clean back then.
Perp was always one of my favorite servers, and prior to this ban, I always tried my best to follow the rules and contribute positively to the community. Over the last 3 years, I’ve matured significantly and completely wiped my game directories to ensure everything is 100% clean.
I hope you guys can consider giving me another shot to prove I've changed. Thanks for reviewing this.
