Why were you punished?: 3.4 - Took the mayor hostage without a valid reason, accepted AR.
Why should this appeal be considered?: Hello dear Exrobite & PerpHeads Community,
First of all, I hope you're all having a great time with V6. Although I haven't had the chance to play it myself yet, I’ve seen a few glimpses, and it looks absolutely amazing. Massive respect to peeps for what he has built, and of course to everyone else who has been working on it for months!
About a week ago, I submitted an appeal, which was accepted — but with a one-week reduction instead of a full unban. I also messaged you privately asking if it would be possible to lift the ban entirely now, and then reapply the remaining days once my friends go on vacation. In hindsight, I realize that this was an unreasonable and overly complicated request, and I apologize for even suggesting such a thing.
There are now exactly 8 days left until my unban. As I mentioned before, I only have 1–2 close friends with whom I’ve been playing Perp actively for years. Unfortunately, they're going on vacation in 4–5 days for a whole month, which means I won’t have much joy playing alone.
I completely acknowledge that I received a 3-month ban before for breaking Rule 3.4, and that ban was 100% justified. What I did that night was absolutely not in line with the rules, and I dragged the situation out just for fun, rather than thinking about whether what I was doing was appropriate. I fully accept that ban — a million percent.
That ban was later reduced after about one and a half months. Sadly, I was banned again just a week later — 2 days before the V6 release — by you. And yes, again, rightfully so, because I violated the rules. But I beg you and the community to understand: I was just trying to create a cool RP scenario with my friend and the Mayor. I didn’t intend to kill anyone, or to look for a reason to shoot people — I simply wanted to experience a negotiation RP scenario once in my life, without it being ruined because someone didn’t feel like playing along.
Initially, some officers were actually excited to play out the situation. But then one or two higher-ranking officers arrived, and things escalated — to the point where everyone was just writing in LOOC that they’d report us and that we were breaking rules. The situation got completely derailed and wasn’t properly played out. I don’t want to blame the officers entirely — the fault was partly on me/us as well.
Because I knew I had just been unbanned a week earlier due to a 3.4 violation, I genuinely didn’t want to get banned again. That’s why I decided to de-escalate the RP by saying we’d surrender and let the Mayor go. We cooperated, we admitted our mistake, and we didn’t continue with the situation.
Unfortunately, it was still reported. I find that really unfortunate, especially since the people who complained later told me (1–3 days afterward):
"Yeah okay, we understand that you just wanted to create a cool RP experience. We all could have handled it better. We’re just people wanting to have fun too, and next time we’ll do it differently."
My friend received a 2-day ban, while I got a whole month — and I know it was because I had just received a reduction a week earlier. I truly understand your reasoning, I really do, bro, but I beg you: if this had been a situation where I went into the Bazaar to rob people just to start a shootout for fun, then I’d have fully accepted a 3-month ban with no chance of reduction.
But this was different.
Bro, I’m already 2 weeks into the ban, I kiss your heart — I just want to spend these last few days with my friends before they go on vacation. I’ve learned from my mistakes, and from now on, I’ll make sure to double-check every single detail of what I’m doing in RP. I only ever wanted to enhance the RP — and honestly, that’s something good, isn’t it?
Every night after my side job, around 4 AM, I hear from my friends how much fun they had on Perp, and how sad they are that I couldn’t be there — and that we won’t get to play together again until next month.
I’m begging you, bro — can’t you just turn a blind eye this one last time?
Two weeks for a situation where no one died, no one lost anything, and the only goal was to create some solid RP — that’s already more than enough punishment for me.
I hope all these words show you how sincere and serious I am about this. I’m truly giving it my all, especially because I acknowledge my mistake.
I really hope I was able to convince you to give me this one small chance. Please, I’m asking you from the heart.
Wishing you, the team, and the entire community a wonderful night.
Kind regards,
Ati
