Why should this appeal be considered?: Good Morning/Afternoon,
Wasn't quite sure whether to class this one as an Apology or Dispute. I was banned for failing to comply under gunpoint earlier today, I presume the staff has the clip. During said clip it was stated that I didn't put my hands up in time. I've already had the whole debacle about trying to show that I was trying to in the thing, but it doesn't show me opening the menu in the Demo. So I won't fight you guys on that. I also understand I have one warn for a prior warn for fear RP but that was breaking an old HL2RP habits, running into proximity of a gunfight to grab unattended loot, that one's my bad but slightly less applicable this time.
The prominent issue is that I see is that didn't comply the second I was at gunpoint? I think it's fairly reasonable to try and back behind a wall or into cover, I was hopeful my buddy in the same room as me (the black one not at gunpoint as the guy first started talking) was paying attention but evidently he was on YouTube shorts. I think that's a fair five or so seconds of reasonable reaction, I just panicked and was trying to figure out what to do, since I thought I was stuck in the crossfire of two guns.
As I stepped back to be in front of the TV I was in the Surrender Menu, rotating clockwise around the wheel, when the guy starts getting shot up by a buddy who was on a crafting bench in the other side of the room. At which point I abort and go instead for a gun, but the fights concluded before I even manage that.
Perhaps in hindsight I can see it being a bit problematic as the actual scenario took place over about 40 seconds, so five or so seconds hesitation can mean more in reality. Even so, it's a chaotic situation, things go wrong, ICly and OOCly. I do not think that it is fair to presume I am stalling anything deliberately - perhaps you can consider me initially trying to get out of harms way 'stalling', but I'd wager that's fair behaviour from someone wielding guns, even if intentional. Hell, if you've seen police footage in similar scenarios, no one ever quite acts how we might want to regiment it. But then again, that's police footage not criminal footage, which is expectedly harder to come by.
For what was gained/lost I feel a two day ban is somewhat unfair. I didn't gain an advantage by hesitating, nor did the guy who I thought was gun out already. The fight only concluded in our favour because the guy way over in the other room shot him in the back, even if I'd have pulled up my hands - the same result would've occurred. To an extent, the entire 'hands up' hesitation is entirely irrelevant in the situation.
Anyhow, that's enough technical whinging. Despite my arguments, I can see the point of staff action. Next time I'll be quicker, I suppose.
I ask for the ban be knocked down a day (or removed all together, if you were so kind) so I can get back to figuring it out. I'm new to Perp, hell new to current gen Dark RP. So far, I've been active in only four raids. Two I died instantly, and the only other lockpick raid went down exactly this way, except we were quicker on the draw than the guy. Perps a mite hard to get into, a two day ban makes it difficult. I was intending to try out the normal jobs, so you needn't worry about more related misdemeanours from me for a bit. All in all, I'd appreciate some consideration here but I won't get much uppity over it, though, is what it is. Appreciate the read.
Thank you,
Blitz / Rumboldt Thorpe
Additional Information: I promise you I did try to go through and get the demo but the things miserable to navigate. If you really really want my perspective I can go back around but I feel it's unnecessary.
