Why were you punished?: 3.4 - User walked into an active shootout and remained there despite being told by an officer at gunpoint to leave. The user died due to this.
Why should this appeal be considered?: I would like to sincerely apologize for my actions that resulted in my 4-day ban for violating Rule 3.4. I understand that I walked into an active shootout and remained in the area despite being told by an officer at gunpoint to leave. I understand that this was against the rules and that my actions that resulted in me being killed.
Looking back at the situation, I realize that I should have listened to the officer and left the area., I should have realized that remaining there was unnecessary and could interfere with the roleplay of the people involved. I take responsibility for my actions and understand why staff decided that a punishment was necessary.
I am not trying to make excuses for what happened. I made a mistake, and I understand that it is my responsibility to know and follow the server rules. I also understand that rules like 3.4 exist to keep situations fair and enjoyable for everyone and to prevent players from unnecessarily involving themselves in situations they should stay away from.
If I am allowed to return after my ban, I will make sure to learn from this mistake. In the future, if I come across an active shootout or another dangerous situation, I will immediately leave when instructed and give the people involved the space they need to continue their roleplay. I will also pay more attention to my surroundings and think before acting.
I apologize to the officer involved, the players whose roleplay may have been affected, and JJB who handled my ban. I respect the server and its rules, and I would appreciate the opportunity to return and prove that I have learned from this situation.
