Punishment Type: Ban
Punishment Subtype: Server Ban
Appeal Type: Apology
Which staff member issued the punishment?: @thehomelessdude
How long were you banned/blacklisted for?: 1 Week
Your Steam Name: billeh
Your Roleplay Name: Walt Winters
Your SteamID: 76561198036551982
Why were you punished?: 2.5 - Player grenaded a group of people because he was told that they were sending threats, which was not the case at all.
Why should this appeal be considered?: Completely my fault. I should've shown more initiative and investigation when I was going to take two players lives. It was irresponsible to just throw a grenade at someone's car, especially without confirming that it was definitely the people that were threatening my org member.
It was a combination of hubris and stupidity that resulted in the 2.5 that occurred, and I did not intend for it to result in a rule break. I do apologize to the two that I naded, as they both lost items and had to go through the process of requesting their items back. I do also apologize to @thehomelessdude as they had to deal with that for a good hour and a half.
I am a competent rule-follower when situations are black and white, but was given faulty intel that resulted in this situation. In future, I will make sure to verify the intelligence that I've been given, as to avoid a situation like this occurring again, as I do not wish to negatively impact the experience of anyone on here; I only wish to have fun with my friends.
Again, I would like to apologize to everyone involved, the two that I 2.5'd unintentionally, and @thehomelessdude for taking up his time with the sit.
Additional Information: As for the unintentional 3.4, my mouse has been having issues that resulted in me keeping ahold of the nade, with a similar situation unfortunately happening to Bobby Costello, and I will make sure this is reconciled before my return to PERPHeads.
