Punishment Type: Ban
Punishment Subtype: Server Ban
Appeal Type: Dispute[Evidence]
Which staff member issued the punishment?: @Collier
How long were you banned/blacklisted for?: 1 Week

Your Steam Name: lunapaloris
Your Roleplay Name: Steve Leshamwon
Your SteamID: STEAM_0:1:600667232

Why were you punished?: 2.5 and 3.10

Why should this appeal be considered?: Hello,
I just want to thank you in advanced for reading this appeal.

I am appealing this for 3 reasons.

1. I killed the player for stealing my dollar who was refusing to give it back. I had asked an admin if that would be valid before doing it and they said it would be if the person refused to give me the dollar back. I had asked them several times prior to attacking them to give me the money and they refused. I'm confused because I had asked an admin with f6 help and they said it would be okay.

2. If i remember correctly the NPC had a door open that was open blocking their view of me, and when I shot the player they were slightly inside the delivery house which would be impossible for the NPC to see me. In rule 3.21 it says that (You also cannot commit crimes in front of them) this was not Infront of them. This was slightly inside the building which would actually be behind them. If I remember correctly the door was also blocking their vision to NPCs left.

3. I'm not sure why 3.10 is there? isn't this a building rule? I am assuming this is suppose to be 3.21?

Perhaps I am taking the fact that 3.21 says (You also cannot commit crimes in front of them) to literally? But if you watch the video I believe I was out of view of the NPC.

I also want to add that I did ask an admin if killing someone over a dollar was fine, and they told me it was. I would like to add this to my appeal that I was misguided when attempting to follow rules and asking for clarification on the rules.

Thank you for considering this appeal

I have found the log of your report with a Helper, and must unfortunately correct the information you were given. As the author of the rules, the portion about "minor or accidental actions" is intended to cover situations like these, as stealing $1 is incredibly minor.

It is correct that it is generally not "excessively negative" to kill someone who is failing to comply with reasonable orders under gunpoint. Trying to gunpoint someone in a public place for $1 would generally not meet the condition of being reasonable. Of course, the player should still have complied nonetheless.

On account of the fact that you were given incorrect information by a member of staff, it would be wholly unreasonable to hold you accountable for this, and as such I will be deleting the ban off your record. I apologize for the inconvenience.
